Changing rear diff fluid (91 XJ): don't want to R&R the diff cover...07 May 2005 06:22 GMT11
What about pumping out the old fluid through the fill hole? Would this be
OK? I guess if there were any metal particles in the fluid the pump wouldn't
pick them up?
85 CJ body tub weight07 May 2005 03:46 GMT15
I've been Googling, but have come up empty so far.
Does anyone know the weight of a stock CJ body tub?
Or the weight of a typical fiberglass replacement tub?
Thanks for any insight.

Motor Swap07 May 2005 00:08 GMT2
I am swapping a dead 4.0 litre fuel injected 1990 Cherokee for a 4.2 Litre
carbureted from a 1989 YJ. Looks like a clean swap.  The Cherokee has 2
fans, one a clutch type running on the motor and one electric fan.  .  Any

HELP Belt conditioner and clicking06 May 2005 22:32 GMT6
Ok....here's one for ya.  I bought a 97 Cherokee Sport awhile back and
it had a squeaky belt.  So I decided to do a little tune up.  Anyway
while I changed the plugs and wire for an extra mile per gallon or so,
I sprayed the belt with belt conditioner to get rid of the squeak.

Strictly for off-road only?
Any amount of lift? (requiring drive shaft angle alignment?)

What engines fit?06 May 2005 22:20 GMT6
I've seen links on here before (probably from Bill) and after going through
Bill's links I found a few relevant links but most have to do with engine
swaps into YJ's and not CJ's. I want to hunt for an engine for my '85 CJ7
(2.5L 5spd) over the summer and try and do a full swap with ...

can you be more specific rather than just being sarcastic?
You are going to get introduced really fast to the 'Death Wobble'.

Hi there. I have a '95 YJ that I am planning an engine conversion for.
I purchased an '88 wrecked Ford Bronco with a 351W fuel injected for
$250. I am planning the engine for the Jeep. While I am ripping all the
wiring and emissions components out of the Bronco, I am seriously

cj frame repair06 May 2005 05:08 GMT9
There are 6 bolts that hold the skid plate / tranny onto the frame of a CJ.
Well mine only has 4 with good threads, the other two have just enough
thread bite to hold in the bolt, any more than that and they just twist.
What is the best method to repair this?  I hate helicoils, ...
How to remove part from jeep06 May 2005 01:59 GMT2
There are two bars that are attached between the anti-sway bar and my leaf
springs on the front of my 1988 Jeep. I want to replace both of these
because the bushing are worn out. When I tried to get the bolts loose from
the anti-sway bar, even a hammer could not free this piece. ...

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo, with  59,900 miles. This morning while
starting the car,
it was a little rough idling and I noticed the malfunction indicator light
stayed on.
