"over-run" brakes?07 Jun 2005 19:56 GMT15
While perusing a Land Rover web page, I noticed that the towing capacity of
a Defender 90 is similar to that of a Jeep's except when using a trailer
with "over-run" brakes, in which case the towing capacity is about 7,700
lbs (3,500 kgs).

Bill, Mike, got links?07 Jun 2005 08:37 GMT1
The Amsoil cult is having another debate on one of my motorcycle groups,
fueled by "feelings" and salesmen's claims. Got any good links for hard
data? Most searches come up with propaganda.
anyone make these? (accessory question)07 Jun 2005 05:07 GMT3
OK, so I have an '80 CJ5. I've been looking at the ol' Quadratec
Summer catalog I just got, and I see those mesh bikini tops (now
called "briefs," did bikini become politically incorrect, or did they
think they'd fool us?)--anyway, I see them for Wranglers and the like,
Plastic protection film for grill?07 Jun 2005 03:04 GMT6
As stone chips and bugs wreak havoc on
the paint on the grill of Jeeps.

a protective clear plastic covering
Slightly OT: Bolt pattern sizes for sifferent vehicles07 Jun 2005 02:45 GMT2
Maybe one of you guys has a link for this, but I am looking for a chart
online somewhere that gives the factory bolt patterns for different
vehicles. We run demo derbies and end up with a lot of bent rims, and we are
looking for donor cars with the right bolt pattern. Any ideas?
Fan Clutch Replacement?06 Jun 2005 22:04 GMT4
My '89 XJ starts to overheat when idle or running at low speeds, after doing
some searching it seems the most likely problem is the fan clutch. How
difficult is it to replace? Anyone know of any guides online? Also when I
went to look at an online parts store I notice they had ...
Front SOA06 Jun 2005 16:28 GMT4
Got the front perches welded on my YJ today, spring on brake lines extended.
Everything went on pretty easy and ALL bolts were replaced with new bolts
(spring bolts, u-bolts, ect). The drag link does want to hit the passenger
spring so I don't have steering untill I get the drop ...
Japanese Girls and Western Attributes06 Jun 2005 14:30 GMT4
Japan was a p**** paradise when my father was there in the 60s. But
now it's pretty tough for gaijin to get any, because they are convinced
we all have VD. Or so recent visitors tell me...
6 or 4 cylinders for the wrangler ?06 Jun 2005 08:52 GMT19
Over here in old Europe ;)) wrangler jeeps are sold either with the 2.4 four
cylinder or the 4.0 six cylinder engine.
Due to the high price of gas i'm enclined for the 2.4 version but the
retailer told me it does not worth it compared to the 4.0 !
On my jeep with THAT nobody can stop me !06 Jun 2005 05:05 GMT4
Hi guys from US,UK,Canada,

Jeep YJ  Wheels06 Jun 2005 03:06 GMT1
Though I have never seen any nor heard anyone speak of them, I was wondering
if anyone makes a "16" wheel for a Jeep YJ?
John Ernst
'89 YJ engine06 Jun 2005 02:56 GMT3
I think the time to make a decision has come. My son's YJ has a rather loud
ticking noise coming from the top end. Without even attempting any
diagnostics, I am figuring burned valve, bad lifter, flat cam lobe, or
something similar. I was thinking about R/R the head (if the problem ...
