| Installing engine oil temperature gauge - TJ | 28 Aug 2005 00:03 GMT | 42 |
I want to install an engine oil temperature gauge on my '01 TJ without having to drill a hole in the oil pan. What is the easiest way of doing this. One of the local shops here suggested perhaps putting a tee on the oil pressure hole on the block and see if it works. I thought ...

| 90 XJ Heat shielding | 26 Aug 2005 14:47 GMT | 12 |
Does anyone know what type of exhaust heat-shield was present on Cherokees around 1990? Mine gets pretty warm on the passenger's floor near the tunnel. I assume the CAT & exhaust may not be shielded properly anymore. I was going to attempt to add some heat shield insulation from ...

| Evil Handling TJ | 26 Aug 2005 14:35 GMT | 2 |
I've got a 98 TJ with a Teraflex lift with about 30K miles on it. Lately I've been noticing that the handling is getting down right spooky. It feels like there is a lot of slop in the suspension and any maneuver, turning, braking, accelerating will make the Jeep do unpredictable ...

| clutch question, manual tire changer question | 26 Aug 2005 04:59 GMT | 13 |
When I have to someday replace my clutch in my TJ, are there any "heavy duty" clutches I can get for it? Something that would grip a bit better than stock? I noticed I can't pull vehicles too large outta sand without burning my stock one up a bit.

| A list of TJ must-do maintenance items for newbies? | 26 Aug 2005 04:32 GMT | 14 |
I solved a case of "Death Wobble" that could have been prevented if I had rotated the darn tires every 3000 miles. Which is in the Factory service manual. But not in the specific schedules. Even had I read that, I probably would NOT have followed it because I would not have

Hey Group, I've got a 84 CJ7 4.2 with a tired engine. I have the opportunity to pick up a roll-over 91 Cherokee 4.0, 4wd. I've been toying with the idea of putting a 4.0 head on the 4.2 but am not crazy about plugging cooling ports

| '88 YJ sputtering question | 25 Aug 2005 18:35 GMT | 4 |
I have a '88 YJ with the 4.2 liter inline 6. The engine does have quite a few miles on it but seems to do alright. The question I have is why would it hesitate and sputter at low rpm's when I load the engine? For example, when starting out from a stop? The Carter BBD I

| towing a Wrangler | 25 Aug 2005 17:24 GMT | 16 |
We're about to buy a motorhome and tow a Jeep Wrangler with it. I've been reading that Jeep recommends that the Wrangler be towed with the transfer case in neutral and the standard transmission in 5th or 6th gear. I have also heard horror stories about what happens if the
