Oh, no! Not the bad clutch slave again !06 Nov 2005 00:02 GMT15
Here we go again. Am I crazy or what? (don't answer that.) On the jeeps I've owned there have been MANY
repairs to the clutch hydraulic slave cylinders. I have been told repeatedly by different people that this is
a thorn in the side and to more or less live with it.
I'd MUCH rather ...
MSNBC Poll05 Nov 2005 19:58 GMT4
MSNBC has an "offroading in National Parks" poll going,
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9900937
It's a poorly worded poll, I don't think we should be allowed to offroad
everywhere in every park, but voted yes anyway to tweak them.
New Respect for My 95 YJ05 Nov 2005 03:47 GMT12
Head on crash with a Geo Prizm on the way home from work tonight.
Totaled the Prizm, luckily the three kids in the Geo walked away.  I
drove the YJ home thanks to a substantial brush guard.

Let the 89 SOA YJ go this week. Sure gonna miss it! Of course, I'll still

Lifted Libby04 Nov 2005 23:10 GMT23
I saw a Libby in a parking lot this evening, it had aprox a 4-5" lift on it.  Also
Bigger and more agressive tires.  Suprisingly, it didnt look half bad like that.
Granted a nice splash of mud here and there would have done a lot for it too...
A Kaiser Owning Friend Asks...04 Nov 2005 22:33 GMT8
Jeep made variations on the Continental flathead six. One of my
neighbors dragged home a Kaiser some losing idiot with less sense than
Hughes apparently stuck a smallblock Chevy in. He bought the car and
pulled the Chevy and its THM 350 out and gave it to the church down the
My Starting Situation (Moisture)04 Nov 2005 20:50 GMT18
Here is my starting situation...When I start my '86CJ 258 after sitting
overnight (temps have been in the 50's, Stored in unheated garage)
I get moisture from the exhaust..it is not oily or discolored, just a
kind of black but again not oily @ all.
TJ lift - LCA's04 Nov 2005 18:54 GMT1
My TJ has a ~3" 4WDH lift.  Currently the rear OEM LCA's are used.  When I
first got the Jeep (lift already installed by PO), there was slight
vibration (hard top on at this time).  This past summer when I put the soft
top and half doors on the vibration went away.  Now that the ...
First automatic04 Nov 2005 14:14 GMT37
My new Grand Cherokee Limited (the one with all the trick differentials) is
my first automatic, and I'm baffled by the shifting program (of the complete
lack of one) in 4L.
I'm no off-road expert, but I've driven lots of trucks off road for work and
keyless entry programming?04 Nov 2005 12:19 GMT15

Warn winch?04 Nov 2005 02:03 GMT6
Looking in paper for a winch, would like the warn 8274, one guy has listed
a warn 8247, is there such a thing or is it a misprint and it's an 8274?
96 XJ - clunk when starting only after moderately quick stop04 Nov 2005 01:52 GMT3
My 96 XJ (145K miles) produces strong clunk upon initial acceleration after
a moderately quick stop.  The quicker the stop, the stronger the clunk.  It
does not do this after normal conservative braking.  The drive shaft
U-joints are nice and tight.  Nothing appears to be loose ...
CJ7 Upper Hinges04 Nov 2005 01:26 GMT3
First time moving from half doors to full doors.  The upper hinges
seemingly have no thread to accept the screws on the lower half of this
top hinges (Bracket mounts to body). Any suggestions--If I lower the
windshield will the area be exposed?
1999 Grand Cherokee Headlamp Assembly Replacement03 Nov 2005 22:06 GMT2
I gave up and actually bought two new headlamp assemblies due to the old
lenses becoming opaque. Replacement is simple except that the wiring harness
to the assembly disappears through an opening below the assembly and goes
who knows where. I guess I could disconnect all the ...
