97 Wrangler loss of power04 Jan 2006 23:56 GMT12
I have a 97 Wrangler, 4cyl with auto trans, no A/C, 130,000 miles on the
clock.
About a week ago the Jeep started to suffer from a lack of power: it will
run and idle fine, but when moving up to freeway speeds (>50mph) it feels
Weak Brakes04 Jan 2006 22:28 GMT3
 Hey Folks,
I have a '76 CJ-7 with 33" tires on 11" drum brakes all around (brakes
from the factory and Jeep has a build date of Sep '75).  [I know 33" mud
tires weren't a factory option:)]  Anyway, brakes have always been weak and
Tyre advice needed04 Jan 2006 17:47 GMT10
I've been a lurker here for the last 3 months, ever since I got my XJ. Every
time I've had a question, the answer's been here before I even got to ask
it. You guys and gals are a wealth of info, so I thought I'd ask for some
advice.

Help with hood removal04 Jan 2006 15:04 GMT12
Help! Can seem to get the tork bolts out to remove my hood.
I have removed the paint that cover the bolts. Sprayed liberally and still
broke my tork socket! I must be forgetting something. Should I just go to
drilling them out?
looking to see some pics of Jeeps with 30X9.50-1504 Jan 2006 14:50 GMT18
Hello all - doing some research into which tires to purchase for my
Jeep (YJ 1991). Not going to do much offroading, just looking for a bit
of a beefier look. Does anyone have any pictures of Jeeps with
30X9.50-15 on them? From what I have read that is the largest the 91 YJ
99 XJ front end noise04 Jan 2006 13:16 GMT4
So I've developed a new strange noise emanating from the front end of my
Jeep recently. It sounds similar to a bad bearing, but doesn't change in
volume when I turn right or left. My experience has shown that bearings will
be louder when you put the weight of the vehicle on the ...

Timing 80 degrees off?!?03 Jan 2006 21:15 GMT13
 Whoof!  Check this out.
I went out to recheck timing with a degree-able timing light this
afternoon and couldn't find the mark.  (Been working with octane and timing
to get rid of a slight rattle.)  I used a white crayon to mark it, then
97 Cherokee - Fan keeps running after shut down03 Jan 2006 19:32 GMT6
Evening folks.  Got a problem with my Jeep.  After I turn off the ignition,
the fan keeps running.  Don't remember this ever happening before.  I
understand some vehicles do this till the engine cools down, but I didn't
think the Jeep did this.  I did Google searches but could ...
96 GC LTD V8 Real-world fuel efficiency?03 Jan 2006 17:34 GMT16
I am contemplating replacing my aging 1990 Cherokee LTD SelectTrac (15 mpg
max) with a 96 GC LTD V8 and would like to find out what the real world fuel
economy is. I had a 95 LTD with the I6 and it topped out about 21 mpg, but I
am leery of the V8. Anyone have any experience with ...
4.0 L Core/Freeze Plugs03 Jan 2006 15:58 GMT37
Hello - I recently replaced all five 2" core plugs on my 1997 4.0L
Cherokee with brass plugs due to corrosion of the original steel ones.
The Cherokee ran great for about two months, and then, under a moment
of hard acceleration, one of the new plugs blew out.  Fortunately the

My '96 cherokee sport, 4.0L 6. Starter "drags" when starting. It has a new
battery, newly cleaned terminals, and a new starter. Can any one tell me
what else might cause this problem? Thank you.
