| Getting a smooth ride on a 79 CJ5 | 29 Mar 2006 08:14 GMT | 5 |
I have a 79 CJ5 that, when I bought it used several years ago, was 100% off road. It had a very stiff leaf spring suspension. I use it just in town, and to get a smoother ride, I took 2 leafs off of each wheel, and the jeep runs a LOT smoother and sits an inch or two lower --which

It's a bad problem to have during rainy season, but my wipers will only work on the highest speed. Intermitent will not work and neither will low speed. When I turn the wipers off from high speed, they will not return to the down position off the windshield.

I don't know much about shocks, but everytime I've picked up a new shock that someone is putting in, or on a store shelf, they are compressed, and if released they come out and are very hard to push back in. Well doing my front axles I have shocks dissconnected, there is no ...

| Best Shop Manual for TJ? | 28 Mar 2006 21:40 GMT | 8 |
As we all know, the owner's manual that came with the vehicle (the one in the glove compartment) does not go into much depth. In your experience, what are the top 2 or 3 shop manuals for the owner of an '04 Rubicon? Factory? Chilton? Haynes? Other?

| How Tall? | 27 Mar 2006 20:54 GMT | 6 |
Just wondering what the height measure on tires is intended to mean. My 31*10.5 BFG TA's, with 30 PSI, on a 3,500 lb TJ, with about 2/3 tread left, measure 29 5/8 tall. Is the measured height usually that much less than the "spec" height?

| 2004 Wrangler Overhead Sound Wedge Speaker Removal? | 26 Mar 2006 23:32 GMT | 2 |
After removing the grille from the sound wedge speakers, how do you get the speaker out? It seems like something else is holding them. I've tried a little prying, but nothing is giving easily.
