Getting a smooth ride on a 79 CJ529 Mar 2006 08:14 GMT5
I have a 79 CJ5 that, when I bought it used several years ago, was 100%
off road.  It had a very stiff leaf spring suspension.  I use it just
in town, and to get a smoother ride, I took 2 leafs off of each wheel,
and the jeep runs a LOT smoother and sits an inch or two lower --which

When I bought it, the speedometer didn't register at all, and the odo

99 TJ Wiper Problem29 Mar 2006 01:51 GMT5
It's a bad problem to have during rainy season, but my wipers will only work
on the highest speed.  Intermitent will not work and neither will low speed.
When I turn the wipers off from high speed, they will not return to the down
position off the windshield.
97 xj Ball Joint29 Mar 2006 01:49 GMT7
Vehicle has pulled to the right since new.  It is now at a point where it
was recommended that I put in offset ball joints as there is no castor
adjustment in the original ball joints.  Dealership wants 200 for the part,
found them online from moog for +/- 60.  I explained to the ...

I have a 2001 Grand Cherokee Laredo, I am getting code P0301 with the check

I take it to my Jeep dealer or the local mechanic.
I am always leary of the dealer (high prices) and afraid the local guy will

are my shocks dead?28 Mar 2006 22:11 GMT6
I don't know much about shocks, but everytime I've picked up a new shock
that someone is putting in, or on a store shelf, they are compressed, and if
released they come out and are very hard to push back in. Well doing my
front axles I have shocks dissconnected, there is no ...
Best Shop Manual for TJ?28 Mar 2006 21:40 GMT8
As we all know, the owner's manual that came with the vehicle (the one in
the glove compartment) does not go into much depth.
In your experience, what are the top 2 or 3 shop manuals for the owner of an

How Tall?27 Mar 2006 20:54 GMT6
Just wondering what the height measure on tires is intended to mean.  My
31*10.5 BFG TA's, with 30 PSI, on a 3,500 lb TJ, with about 2/3 tread left,
measure 29 5/8 tall.  Is  the measured height usually that much less than
the "spec" height?
2004 Wrangler Overhead Sound Wedge Speaker Removal?26 Mar 2006 23:32 GMT2
After removing the grille from the sound wedge speakers, how do you get the
speaker out?  It seems like something else is holding them.  I've tried a
little prying, but nothing is giving easily.
