Problems with water!25 Apr 2006 22:15 GMT20
My jeep runs well unless it gets wet. If enough water gets splashed up
under the hood it quits and wont start for a couple hours. Also it
won't start in humidity or heavy rain! otherwise everything works well.
What could my problem be?

88 sport25 Apr 2006 20:37 GMT19
New to jeeps. Looking at a nice 1988 sport 5 speed. I have been told to stay
away from 89s do to a weak tranny. Is this true for 88s also?
This jeep has a plow so I am very concerned about the drivetrain. I have
plowed for years with 1 ton pickups and have seen the toll plowing ...
Another mileage thread- 90s Cher-GW?25 Apr 2006 19:01 GMT9
I am considering buying a 1990-2000  Cherokee or Grand Waggy for my wife
(who hates snow), and keeping it stock.
What kind of mileage are those of you who own these rigs getting?

Discovered several interesting things today:
1. Jeep Wranglers can be very fuel efficient.  Drove 66.3 miles then
filled up: used only 2.3 gallons!  My calculations indicate 28.8 mpg.
How the hell did I do it?  Avoided stoplight racing, shifted under 2k,

Behold, a one-of-a-kind Jeep accessory.  The office staff loved it.

Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 1996:  Took it for a two-mile spin.  When I pulled
into my garage, water was boiling out of the radiator around the cap.  Any
ideas?

Trip to Death Valley25 Apr 2006 04:09 GMT20
I am taking a four day, three night trip to Death Valley and planning
to leave my doors and windows at home. Have any of you done the same
or similar and regretted not having your doors? Anyone wished they'd
brought something and didn't? Thanks in advance.
Hybrids?25 Apr 2006 00:50 GMT18
So I'm listening to this guy on the radio who calls in and is bragging on
his Honda Civic Hybrid. Gets 40mpg or better and he claims it has "lots of
power". So I'm not an engineer and I have not researched the technology but
here is my question.
Cherokee Liftgate Question24 Apr 2006 18:24 GMT6
Are the struts supposed to *push* the liftgate open, or just keep it
from falling closed?
I have to pull the liftgate open, against what resistance the struts
provide. And when it's really cold out (for Socal!) the struts don't
