XJ Sound bar question16 Apr 2006 04:12 GMT1
I just got a sound bar from a 97 Cherokee that I plan on putting in my
96.  It's pretty obvious how the thing goes in but I've got a couple of
questions.
1.  This is hard, black plastic and obviously supposed to be covered in

Stupendous Man,

got an XJ too must be something in the water15 Apr 2006 22:36 GMT3
Must be something in the water; or it's the crazy amounts of 88 to mid
90's XJ's that are hitting the used market for dirt cheap.
Got mine for a grand, it's a 92 white US fish and Wildlife service 2
door, with 147k. I got it intending to use it as a temporary driver for
What are the QUIETEST tires for a Cherokee ?15 Apr 2006 19:01 GMT21
I do mostly highway driving with my 2000 XJ 2WD Cherokee. Never off-road.
For me, it's more of a large station wagon than an SUV.
Given my usage, what are the QUIETEST tires I can put on it ? This thing's
got enough road noises as it is, I don't want tires that sound like a jet
4K RPMs @ 50MPH?  On *Rebuilt Trans*?15 Apr 2006 18:52 GMT12
I'm the guy w/the Transmission job, ethical issues concerns with the
shop.  I just today picked up my Grand Cherokee '96 from the Shop and
on the way home from what was ultimately a $1,750 transmission job
(with tax), I could not believe the rev'ing at relatively low speed.
Cherokee water temp sender15 Apr 2006 18:32 GMT11
Hi,  My '97 4.0l I6 cherokee has started to display an erratic temp
gauge - it sits at 0 then intermittently rises to display the correct
temp.  I don't have a manual for the vehicle - where is the temp
sender located and is this (or it's wiring) likely to be the fault?
Tires Again15 Apr 2006 04:11 GMT3
My 2000 XJ LTD stock no lift - door sticker reads P215/75R15.  Build
sheet says it was equipped from the factory with P225/70R16.  I am
currently running P235/70R16 with no problems.
Here's the question - Will a set of Mickey Thompson Baja MTX Size

'79 CJ5  intake/exhaust manifold gasket15 Apr 2006 02:34 GMT13
I know that a permanent solution for intake/exhaust manifold leaks is to
go to headers.  But I want to do an engine swap at some point so I want
to mess with it for a bit longer.
Is there some specific gasket, or something else, one can use/do that
XJ stumble, check engine light14 Apr 2006 23:38 GMT11
This is the second time this has happened, otherwise the Jeep runs
great. Once at about 15k miles and this time at about 50k miles, upon
cold starting, the engine stumbles (of course no gas pedal), runs really
rough for about 20-30 seconds, then planes out. This triggers the ...

Tire size for lifted 2002 Jeep Wrangler14 Apr 2006 21:06 GMT6
I purchased a 2002 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L for my son that has a 4" lift kit
professionally installed.  The Jeep came with 35x12.5x15 BF Goodrich
ATs.  It has a Dana 35 rear with a Detroit locker.  The left rear axle
was just replaced as the axle broke.  Last year the right rear axle

Rock chips, from the inside.14 Apr 2006 04:36 GMT84
For chrissake.
I am completely disgusted.
A rock evidently flew up out of the tire and whacked the inside of my fender
and made an outie rock chip.
