Advice For Older Jeep Owners31 May 2006 19:08 GMT7
Now that MTBE has been removed from gasoline, the government mandated
replacing it with 10% ethanol. If you are running an older engine (like
the '64 Olds V6 in my CJ), the alcohol will tear up the fuel pump and
hoses. I speak from experience when my '61 Jeep died and I had to ...
door lock button stuck31 May 2006 14:48 GMT1
I recently had to remove the front door panel on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee
sport to access the front speaker.  After placing the panel back on,
the manual lock button is stuck in the "lock" position, with the door
actually unlocked - I cannot push the button to the unlocked position -
'89 Jeep Wrangler won't start31 May 2006 03:59 GMT3
I recently came into posession of an '89 Jeep Wrangler, 2.5L, 4 cyl.
It sat untouched for almost 8 years and now it won't start.
I've changed the battery, plugs, distributor cap and cables, air and
oil filters and the ignition coil.  When I try to start the vehicle it
Tricks for removing lug nuts31 May 2006 03:55 GMT36
I got a new set of wheels/tires for my 91.  I was able to loosen all
but 1 lug nut.
I've read lots of suggestions, but need to know, how do I proceed with
doing the least damage?
1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport Question #1-Towing-Transmission Cooler per owner's manual 31 May 2006 00:30 GMT12
I have already found the answer to one of my towing questions here but
I have more. The manual states: Transmission Cooler......Auxiliary
Cooler Required. I found what they are.
My question: Do I need one?  I'm going to tow my 700lb motorcycle from
Maybe slightly OT. trailer winch wiring30 May 2006 23:32 GMT38
Ok,
Here goes.... I am trying to wire an old "unknown" electric winch mounted on
the trailer that will be used to haul Jeeps.( there's the slight on topic)
I have the idea that it will have a 25' remote with momentary on-off-on
Olympic A/T Rock Slider Rear Bumper & Other Questions30 May 2006 18:56 GMT7
All on a 98 TJ:
I'm considering buying an A/T Rock Slider Rear Bumper by Olympic. I've
heard good things from the group about it, but just wanted to make sure
of one thing, .. a stock spare-tire will fit with no problem with this
2001 Grand Cherokee "Idiot light"30 May 2006 17:39 GMT1
Sorry to ask this, but I don't have an owners manual with me.  On the
upper right corner of my dash, a "valve looking idiot light" went off
this morning and later the oil pressure gauge seemed to go up as I
accelerated and lesson as I eased off the gas.
Liberty CRD engine trivia30 May 2006 13:46 GMT10
Just nosin' around on the Internet can find some interesting information.   I
realize that it might have limited interest at this time, but since I just
bought a new Liberty CRD, the engine is unique to me after years of tinkering
with "normal" engines.  I'm also having a time ...

This ought to annoy someone <G>29 May 2006 22:56 GMT15
When the Liberty first came out something about it seemed familiar, but
I couldn't quite put my finger on it.  A few months later someone at
work got one and as I was walking past it one day I looked inside to try
to get the view you would get driving down the road, and that ...
Quick question on lift kits29 May 2006 19:15 GMT7
I am slightly interested in a small lift (2 inches) for my 2004
Wrangler.  In looking at the various kits, I have noticed that some
(like Skyjacker) just include coil spacers/new shocks/bump stop
extensions, while others (like Old man Emu) include lots more stuff,

Waggy Working Again !29 May 2006 07:21 GMT14
Got my Grand Wagoneer working again ! As I wasn't up in Edinburgh as often
as I wanted the last couple of years, I didn't tax it or MOT it ( MOT is the
annual inspection test covering emissions and roadworthiness). Anyhow,
having done some work on the rather dodgy original wiring, ...
