Transmission Fluid Change Question19 Aug 2006 21:31 GMT8
I have a '96 GC 4.0 w/167k on it. I was wondering how hard it is to change
out the filter and fluid on this. Any thoughts or comments are
appreciated.....
2004 Jeep Liberty brake problem.19 Aug 2006 19:52 GMT21
I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty that I purchased brand new in November of 2003.
I have 18,231 miles on it and the brake rotors are bad.  The dealer told me
that they need to be turned.  I was not happy with the fact that it was not
covered under their 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty.  ...
Oil changed... found this19 Aug 2006 19:20 GMT9
I changed the oil this weekend in my TJ and XJ, and my gf's TJ.  18
quarts... ever time I change them I joke about making the sheiks rich and
all.  Found this website about oil http://www.lifeaftertheoilcrash.net/
Thought it was interesting.
Catalytic Convertor19 Aug 2006 19:17 GMT7
I'm in need of a new converter for my '97 ZJ. The old one is rattling like
crazy. Am I better off getting a direct fit replacement, or can I get a
universal fit?
Whats a good brand to get?
argh, 90 xj starting revisited (cps?)19 Aug 2006 17:59 GMT8
Damn, just when I fix one thing its another...
The other day in traffic it died at a particularly busy intersection here in
town, but after the hood up and me plugging and unplugging the cps sensor a
few times it starts up and I drive to where I was going.  An hour after
79 CJ5 decisions19 Aug 2006 17:47 GMT6
I guess I've finally been bitten by the "bug".  My wife and I purchased
a 2006 TJ a few months ago.  I thought it would be my daily driver /
weekend toy.  Boy was I wrong!  Now she likes it so much that it's HER
daily driver and definitely not a weekend toy.  Anyway, after a lot of
Wipers/Radio Problem19 Aug 2006 01:19 GMT8
I replaced my alternator and battery a few months ago because my '97
Cherokee Sport wouldn't hold a charge, and occasionally upon starting
the wipers and radio wouldn't work. Also stalled once when I was
driving... scary.
Cam sensor location?????18 Aug 2006 21:25 GMT6
Hi, a buddy of mine has a 1998 wrangler 4.0 stick. the check engine light is
not on but he had the codes pulled by autozone due to a random no start. The
code reader says CAM POS sensor So I presume that is the camshaft position

accelerating problems18 Aug 2006 21:19 GMT1
I could use a little help. I have an 89 Comanche, 4L automatic. A while
ago the truck would start to miss as I accelerated. It idles fine, but
as soon as I push the gas it would seem to miss. I was idling it to my
mechanic and all of a sudden it was fine. I left it there and when he
clanking sound that driving me nuts.  [resolved]18 Aug 2006 16:31 GMT7
For all who has been following the "clanking sound that driving me
nuts." thread, it has been fixed. The dust plate or dust cover was
dented and it was coming into contact with the torque converter/or was
it the engine..but they undented it and told me to bring it back if it

yesterday. It's August and its hot!  Thanks in advance - Bill
Looking for 79 CJ-5 original soft top Hardware18 Aug 2006 03:19 GMT10
Does anyone know where I would have a good chance of finding the
original top hardware (including door hardware) for a 79 CJ-5? I found
a brand new top (from 79!) but all I have is aftermarket BestTop
hardware. Thanks for any help. BTW, I'm in Los Angeles, so something
1997 Wrangler Automatic Transmission Slipping18 Aug 2006 00:19 GMT3
I was wondering if anyone might have an idea of what would be causing
the automatic transmission on a 97 Wrangler to slip sometimes.  When I
am starting from a stop at a light or in a parking lot the transmission
sometimes takes a couple seconds to slip into gear, even though the
which lift to get17 Aug 2006 13:57 GMT2
I am looking at getting the Rubicon Express 3.5" or the Skyjacker 4".
I want to do this right and avoid most of the horror stories Ive heard
about lifting a TJ.  Anyone out there running either one of these lifts
and got any opinions from anyone else?  Thanks
