'88 Wrangler needs new 4.2L engine...30 Sep 2006 21:29 GMT2
I need to replace the 4.2L engine in my '88 wrangler and I was
wondering if I could drop in an older 4.2L engine.  I found a '78 4.2L,
but I don't think they're interchangable.  Does anyone have personal
experience with this, or any advice?
1978 J10 Truck Info30 Sep 2006 21:24 GMT2
A friend has a 1978 J10 pickup with driver's side window off track or busted
loose - not sure exactly yet.  I'm looking for any diagrams or photos of the
guts of this door before we go in to assess the repair, so we can
reconstruct things.  Or point me to a good data and/or parts ...

The drivers side front door bangs on the connection when closed. I
tried to raise it by loosening the hinge bolts on the frame side and
raising the door and then tightening them but no luck. Any advise?

The aft output shaft seal on the transfer case is slinging oil. Simple? You

in 110K miles) replaced the seal twice in a little over a month, and it
98 ZJ Shocks?29 Sep 2006 03:38 GMT6
Sears has a sale on Monroe Sensa-Trac shocks.  I'm thinking of putting
them on the ZJ which is mostly used on road.  What say ye?  Any other
recommendations.  Thanks.

88 Jeep Comanche cooling issues29 Sep 2006 02:59 GMT23
So we had a really hot day here awhile ago, and I ended up overheating my
Jeep Comanche (4.0l engine).  I had problems before, but nothing like that.
Stuck in stop and go traffic, hot temps, etc.
So I'm trying to do a little diagnosis, but I'm not that automotively

Long story short, I picked up a 95 yj this spring, I tried 4HI on the test drive and it seemed to
work. I got it running right and safe enough for the wife to run around town in a few days
but got hurt at work and really have not had a chance to touch it again till today.

wiper linkage repair28 Sep 2006 03:56 GMT2
The ball/socket joint on the driver's side of the wiper linkage on my
91 Cherokee popped off.  Is there any little clip or part that holds it
on?  Is it just a press fit?  Is there any solution other than a new
linkage [$141 - $212].  Ouch!

Help with weeping oil near rear of oil pan28 Sep 2006 01:53 GMT2
I have an 05 tj that I recently did a hundred mile off road trip.  No
rock crlawing just some really steep hills.  Got it home to check the
under carriage and I notice between the rear of the oil pan and bell
housing there seems to be a large round rubber gasket or seal that has
Body Control Module27 Sep 2006 23:23 GMT3
I was wondering how hard it would be to add "Vehicle Information
Centre" (the fuel economy/range) on my 95 Grand Cherokee. How hard
would it be?
