Towing 4 down22 Oct 2006 00:23 GMT13
Can a 2005 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited Wrangler with automatic trans be towed 4
down like the older Jeeps? I am aware of putting the transfer case in
neutral and the trans in park with steering unlocked. Thanks Don
Restoring my CJ721 Oct 2006 22:40 GMT4
Hi all.  I posted "77 CJ 7 rusty frame" last night and so far I haven't
gotten any replies.  I have been rethinking this project and have some more
things I would like to get some input on.  My CJ is a Golden Eagle model
with a 304 and auto transmission, and has the Borg-Warner ...

AW4 Questions20 Oct 2006 15:53 GMT1
OK, so I know a little about automatic transmissions, but not much. I know
they use between 3 and 5 sets of planetary gear sets, each consisting of
three gear sets. One sun gear, three planet gears revolving around the sun
gear, and an outside ring gear. I belive the AW4 has 4 ...
CARTER BBD CARBURETOR VENTURI CLUSTER20 Oct 2006 15:03 GMT6
Have a 88YJ with 4.2.  Having problems with stalling, jeep will not idle.
Took out idle tube and venturi cluster to clean them.  Now I forget which
way the venturi cluster is installed. With the domes up, the engine will not
idle at all; with the domes down, the engine will idle but ...
83 CJ7 Brake Lights misbehaving20 Oct 2006 14:35 GMT3
The brake lights do not work when pedal is depressed, nor do they work
with the hazard flashers on. The flasheers, however, work normally in
front (burn steady when brake pedal depressed, flash otherwise). The
brake lights work normally when the turn signals are flashing.
FS: Pacesetter Header for Jeep Wrangler 2.520 Oct 2006 07:17 GMT3
Well, I did it... I sold the TJ the other night.  Yes, I know I'm
going to regret it.  Still have the XJ, tho.
I *do* have a brand new "still in the box" Pacesetter Header for sale.
It fits a '97-'98 2.5 litre.  If you're interested, i'll take $100 for
Interesting question20 Oct 2006 02:49 GMT16
A guy I ran into at the gas station the other day mentioned that the 2
engine compartment supports that run from grille to firewall on a TJ can
be removed for easier servicing, since (he believes) they were placed
there during manufacturing only to support the assembly prior to
Speaker wiring difficulties20 Oct 2006 02:39 GMT3
I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee and replaced the original radio with new
this past Christmas. All went well until about 2 weeks ago. Now none of
the speakers will produce sound.
When I check for sound at the connections behind the radio with one of
need advice RE Wrangler transmission overhaul19 Oct 2006 17:42 GMT8
My 94 Wrangler (4 cyl, 170,000 miles) started having problems with the
5-speed manual transmission. First I lost 5th gear, then it started
seizing or locking up in reverse, and finally it started locking up in
1st also.
Another project for my 1990 Wrangler YJ19 Oct 2006 14:48 GMT6
Well I've got my 4wd Posi-Lok installed and seems to work decent but
will not know more for awhile since I've got other projects to go
through before going onto some good offroad trips.  One thing I've
noticed while working on my jeep in the engine compartment is that when
Death Wobble19 Oct 2006 13:05 GMT29
How common is death wobble on a bone stock  2WD XJ?.
I have a friend who was trying to describe the XJs recent reaction to
crossing the railroad tracks and all I could make of it was death
wobble......
Posting the RAMJ+W NG CHARTER!19 Oct 2006 06:43 GMT3
This Charter needs to be posted now and then to keep it valid as I was
recently reminded by a 'spammer' who apologized for the spam but
commented about not having the Charter more visible.
I usually try to post it fairly often so it's time again.
