| Help with strange scraping sound | 08 Jan 2007 14:59 GMT | 20 |
While off-roading this weekend the '95 Wrangler developed a slow scraping sound that sounds like sheetmetal edges rubbing past each other (low pitch). It happens only while going downhill and braking with the engine. It happens in and out of 4WD and on paved and unpaved

| Hard Shifting?? | 08 Jan 2007 14:42 GMT | 4 |
Hi all. I have a 2006 Jeep Wrangler that has 2200 miles on her. She has a 6 speed manual tranny. Anyone else have problems shifting first thing when starting up your jeep? All gears shift fine EXCEPT from 1st to 2nd. This seems to shift a little "clunky" and stiff until I have

Question on back space 33x12.5" x 15" for Rubicon. What is the best back space on the 15" rim? I want to go as far under the fender flares as possible without rubbing or scraping on control arms etc. BTW, its a 4.5" RE lift.

| Axle swap | 08 Jan 2007 03:06 GMT | 2 |
Hello. Could someone please tell me whether the axles from a 78 Cherokee would fit on my 95 YJ w/o any modifications? I am interested because they are the Dana 44 axles. Thanks,

| Power Steering Leak | 08 Jan 2007 01:43 GMT | 2 |
I have a occasional leak from where my steering box meets the pitman arm. It seems only to leak sometimes, but other times it won't (maybe the degree the steering wheel is at the time..? who knows). I'm probably due for a new seal for where the pitman arm attaches to the

My 2005 Rubicon Unlimited has developed a annoying rattle at low speeds. It is real bad when turning left, the sound seems to come from the right front. I jacked the front and checked u-joints (both sides) they seem fine. I also checked for loose shocks. I tried holding the ...

| 87 YJ | 07 Jan 2007 08:54 GMT | 121 |
I'm looking at an '87 YJ for a project jeep. (I already own a '93 that I drive everyday.) It's a 6 cyl., but it has an automatic. How much trouble would it be to swap out the auto for an AX-15? Or some other manual that would work more easily?

| I need tires! | 07 Jan 2007 04:48 GMT | 5 |
Greetings. I am looking for a set of used tires for my Wrangler. Something close to the stock size that came on it, or a little larger. I would trade a decent set of BFG A/Ts 31x10.5x15 for them. My tires are in great shape. I drive 40 miles one way to work everyday and

| Learned my lesson - broke a stabilizer bar | 07 Jan 2007 03:46 GMT | 14 |
Never climb concrete at an angle. always straight on. I went up a 5" slab to get somewhere and I wasn't going slow enough (20mph) and not head on. I approached it frm the driver's side at a 45 deg angle and my passenger side stabilizer snapped at the top where it connects to the

| Unknown fluid leak! | 07 Jan 2007 01:08 GMT | 14 |
Well after chasing many leaks on my 95 YJ, a new one has sprung. I am getting two drops of fluid under the mid section. The bolts that secure the seat belt clips to the floor have fluid on them and are dripping?? Are there brake lines in that vicinity that I cant see? It is not gear

| Best method for extracting bolts with broken off heads... | 06 Jan 2007 20:32 GMT | 44 |
So I'm elbows-deep in pulling out my radiator and water pump from my '88 Jeep Comanche (4.0l, if that matters), and as I figured was likely, two bolt heads broke off. I've got pictures, if you care to see (http://members.shaw.ca/cneufeld/Images/Truck005Small.jpg). They're ...
