Leaky axle problem. Dana 3521 Aug 2008 10:57 GMT7
Hi everyone. I have a 95 YJ with a Dana 35 rear, and it is leaking
gear oil from the passenger side of the pumpkin were the tube is
pressed in. It is not a leaky cover. I wipe it down at night, and it
does not leak until its driven. It is wet down the axle housing to the
Front Driveshaft20 Aug 2008 05:28 GMT2
I've had a "bump-stop" problem with my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee for
some time. Awhile back, I greased the rear driveshaft slip yoke
splines, which seemed to help, but the problem still comes and goes.
I'm thinking of greasing the front driveshaft, but I have some
Selectable lockers18 Aug 2008 15:21 GMT7
I´m considering getting a selectable locker for my rear D44 (in a 2.5
L YJ), not interested in an automatic locker, I've seen too many Jeeps
slide sideways on otherwise easy sections of trail.  The three I´ve
been looking at are ARB, OX and Eaton E-locker.  Any comments are

96 XJ won't start14 Aug 2008 23:39 GMT9
My 96 XJ will not start. The battery and starter are strong.  There is
no fuel at the rail and no spark at the plugs.  I am unable to hear
the fuel pump with the key on. I replaced the fuel pump but still no
hum.   It was running great prior to this.
Possibe to lean out a TJ 6 Cyl?14 Aug 2008 23:32 GMT3
I believe TJ's are set up to run on the "rich" side.
Do any of these after market chips lean out the fuel?
I'm looking for improved mileage and I think the TJ is running overly
rich.
258 head bolts - source recommendation?14 Aug 2008 03:35 GMT4
OK - I'm needing to replace the head gasket on the 258 in my 83 CJ7
Jeep.but am having a heck of a time finding new (replacement) head
bolts 'cause they need to be 7/16's rather than the more readily
available 1/2's.

Dana35C RIP13 Aug 2008 14:56 GMT8
It's taken me nine years but my Dana 35C is finally going belly-up. Went to
the Badlands in July and ever since it started acting up. When I opened it
up I found the cross-shaft pinion gears had lost some teeth. So an upgrade
axle is in the works but I wanted to see if I could ...
TJ Gas Tank11 Aug 2008 21:00 GMT3
While under my 97 TJ I noticed that the gas tank skid pan was badly
rusted.......my finger went right through it and out came a bunch of small
rocks and dirt........certainly from my past "muddin" days.
Since most of my 4 wheelin' is now light I'm thinking of just removing the

Sticking up for Hughes!09 Aug 2008 23:34 GMT14
Was in a conversation in another NG, and Hughes name came up.
Someone accused Hughes of eating sh.t sandwiches, and I had to stick
up for him, and said, "No, Hughes doesn't like bread"!

Update on axle ratio08 Aug 2008 00:56 GMT3
I had a 3.07 in my '04 TJ (62,000 mi) and I wanted to have a 3.73, but
it didn't seem economically feasible. Just traded for an '06 TJ with a
3.73 rear. Problem solved :-) It has the 25X package (Ecco aluminum
wheels, 3.73 with Trac-Lok, Hard top, A/C, cruise control and 6 CD

I can't remember who had asked, but I did remember to take some pics of
my homebuilt hard top dolly when I pulled it out of the garage earlier
last month:
