About the spare tire...26 Aug 2004 20:14 GMT3
Another question (I'm full of them, huh?) about the spare I just mounted
tonight -
About how many miles do spares last as a general rule? I'm not sure if mine
is a full-size spare. It *looks* like it is, but then again the car seems to

HELP: Opinions Needed20 Aug 2004 20:42 GMT1
Hi Group,
I am posting to this group because, as Kia owners, I greatly value your
opinion.  I feel that everyone in this group is either knowledgeable about
automobiles or is a car enthusiast.  This is why I am asking for your
Replacing a tire20 Aug 2004 20:37 GMT1
I'm trying to replace a tire on my 2000 Sportage, but the lug nuts are way
too tight to unscrew them manually. I can't get it to the shop because the
tire is completely flat. How do I unscrew the lug nuts with just the manual
tool they give you (without ripping an arm out of the ...

Has anyone else had their clutch go out on a 2001 kia rio cinco.  The car
was bought new, 18monts ago, at the end of the 2002 season.  It has 33,000
miles on it and the clutch burned out on it.  I have had standard
transmission cars for 40 years and NEVER wore out a clutch.  Its 900 ...

18,750 miles, just coming out of the mountains (approx. 7,000 feet) for a

Back to the plains, (approx 3500 feet)braked a bit hard for a stop sign I
snuck up on a bit fast.
Sedona Starting12 Aug 2004 19:46 GMT6
Just bought a new Sedona, and noticed that it takes quite a long turn of the
key to get it started (about 5 sec or so).  I know that isn't really long,
but it is much longer than any other car I have driven.  Is this a problem,
or is it a Kia thing?  Thanks
New Sedona 11 Aug 2004 15:55 GMT2
I just purchased my first new car, a Kia Sedona EX.  It was about 8-10k less
than the comparably equipped Fords and Chryslers.
One question I have is that the dealer wanted to sell this
paintprotector/rustproofing package.  Is this a waste like most other dealer

2001 2.4 Optima Hesitation/Stalling Help?09 Aug 2004 02:12 GMT5
It hasnt stalled yet, but during idle and acceleration there is serious
hesitation and sputtering.  It is getting really bad.  We took it into the
dealer (55kmiles) and asked for a diagnosis (they charge $50 to diagnose)
and they said: change fuel filter, spark plugs, and trans ...
2000 Kia Sephia rear brakes.06 Aug 2004 16:24 GMT2
Does anyone know how to change the rear brakes on this vehicle.  I guess
that they are shoes.  I see two crosshead screws that seem to be retaining
the drum.  Do these have to be removed with some type of impact driver to
remove the drum and access the brake shoes?
2000 Kia misses05 Aug 2004 21:39 GMT3
I noted on my 2000 Kia Sephia, with 40,000 miles, that after starting it up,
it began chugging (missing) and check engine light came on.  I took it to
the dealer and they wanted $130 to change plugs and spark plug wires.  I
felt this was unacceptable so looked into the problem ...
