RRC Body kits.29 Sep 2004 18:07 GMT6
Sick of rusting bumpers.
Any experience good or bad with the various suppliers of Body kits available
for the RRC? I'm not into all those Ferrari side vent imitaion Dimma type
kits. Just the front and rear bumper kits.
Why does it always happen at night29 Sep 2004 18:01 GMT3
I switched on my headlights this evening ready to go out to the supermarket
and the wipers came on, and would not switch off.
I ripped out the wiper switch, literally, it would not unscrew I had to use
brute force, and substituted a temporary of, on, on, switch which works ok.
Alternator pulley diameters...29 Sep 2004 16:29 GMT12
Gave up thoughts of refurbing alternator: at 150,000 miles thought
replacement was sensible rather than new brushes/regulator, so bought a
recon at local spares place.
They didn't have an identical unit, so fitted a Ford one which looks
Compressor - would this work????29 Sep 2004 13:41 GMT22
Whilst driving back from Peterborough, after looking at very expensive
12V compressors I stumbled upon what may be a brainwave!
I quite like the idea of having onboard air for inflating tyres,
air-beds etc etc. But the proper ones are expensive.  I also have a

Its now time to try to make my 90 hardtop a bit less like a cullinder
and more like a leak free (dont laugh) 90.  Every time it rains i have
a pond in the back!
Both my Body Cappings / Mid Rails have rusted and need welding up or

Could anybody give me the benefit of their knowledge please ?
My 110 Tdi CSW rear door lock does not lock. I had it replaced some time ago
under warranty so it looks like a usual problem. Point is I cannot be
bothered to yet again replace a defective part with another ...
ATTN: Lee_D please?28 Sep 2004 08:52 GMT2
If you see this, could you e-mail me about some RRC bits & bats? Or even better we can do it on here?
(ohh-err!)
It's mainly about what you found after ripping yours apart!!!

Power steering conversion for 9028 Sep 2004 08:14 GMT1
After a 20 year break, I've recently re-joined the LandRover owning
fraternity with the purchase of 1990 90 2.5TD hard top.
My missus generally approves, but would approve even more if it had power
steering. Can anyone give me an idea of what the parts to do this would cost?
Rooftents - Hannibal or Eezi-Awn ???27 Sep 2004 23:32 GMT17
Im looking to go to France and Italy next year with the landy (90) and
the mrs.
I was going to just take our telly-tubby style dome tent but then
after reading the recent article in LRO magazine I'm not sure now -

Cheap Coniston green?27 Sep 2004 21:33 GMT20
I got a tin of touch up spray paint from my local dealers. While
it was not expensive, it lasted about five minutes.
Any suggestions for an after-market spray paint in a can that
approximates to the standard Land Rover green? I'm told this is
brakes update27 Sep 2004 21:07 GMT11
An update on tracing the cause of the brakes problem, if you remember,
1984 110, takes a couple of pumps of the pedal to get the back brakes
working.
Had the wife in the drivers seat stepping on the brakes while I

Defender 90 brakes...27 Sep 2004 20:53 GMT6
I recently had my 90 serviced and the pads where replaced with non
standard land rover pads. Since then I have had several experiences of
brake fade, which has been pretty scary, and the engine has been
uprated! Anyway, does anyone know the best pads that I can get for my
