.uk group proposal on GPS16 Oct 2004 16:39 GMT6
I posted a while ago about a proposal to create a new group in the
uk.rec hierarchy (proposed as: uk.rec.gps).  I'm not related to, or
have any personal knowledge of the proponent (if anything, he can be a
bit of a PITA judging from other groups), but I'd be interested to
Battery Drain??16 Oct 2004 14:30 GMT8
In a rare move of cunning I left my light on the other day and killed the
battery. Anyway, I got it jump started and then charged it overnight when I
got home.
I tried to start it the other morning and it was dead. More charging and I

mentioned their Disco wasn't working (the one we went round the off
road track in Abingdon in the the other day)? ;-(
He seems to think it's the alternator and has booked it into the LR

work under her skirt16 Oct 2004 00:27 GMT5
Hi group, was wondering if anyone had any info or contacts for a device to
attach to your Range Rover or in my case 110, to roll it on the
side.(controlled of course...slowly) This to allow work to be done under the
skirt of Solihull's Matron.

I've heard that oil should be filled in the carburetors of my V8 Def 90-'86.
Does anyone knoes how much and which oil? Oil of automatic transfer boxes?
Kind regards,

fitting harnesses.15 Oct 2004 20:44 GMT3
I have just bought  4 point harnesses to go with my plush cobra seats  in my
90.
The straps for the lap belts are no problem to fit as i can just bolt them
to the existing seat belt mounts on the floor.

Tdi oil pressure - any ideas?15 Oct 2004 15:43 GMT18
I've just fitted a 200Tdi motor into my 90, complete with Allisport
intercooler. The question I have is, while dring normally, ie 10 miles
of A roads, the oil pressure reads 45-50 psi. However on a v long run
30+ miles or when towing the oil pressure drops as low as 35psi. Now
Oil change coming up. What oil ??15 Oct 2004 11:05 GMT16
I try to use the best oil I can for the 300 Tdi, whatever the cost. Last
year the local motor factor showed me Comma semi-synthetic oil ( as
recomended in his 'bible' ) and as I have heard that the other company
products tend to win quite a few reveiws I used it. Seems OK; certainly
Freelander transmission vibration15 Oct 2004 10:59 GMT1
There is a significant vibration which appears to come from the transmission
on my 1998, 70,000 mile Freelander TD.  The vibration is most noticable
between 1600 rpm and 1900 rpm in 4th and 5th gears when there is a slight
load on the engine such as acceleration or climbing .  The ...

Non-return valve14 Oct 2004 22:32 GMT8
After failing to keep to the advice "shiny side up, greasy side down"
on a CCV trial, I have discovered that Tiggrr will leak fuel from its
tank if the angle of dangle is extreme enough.  The leak is through
the breather pipe, and I need a non-return valve to allow air in, but
