cooling questions...15 Nov 2004 15:46 GMT6
ok, my mind is mulling over some modifications for my land rover,
keeping the 2.5 n/a diesel.
would there be any advantages to fitting an engine oil cooler?
ditto for an intercooler?
starting problems15 Nov 2004 15:46 GMT2
A couple of weeks ago I bought a '93 Defender 110.
This morning no way to get the car started altough 6 ours before I came home
without any problem. The battery seems ok but I'm worried about the starter
since I don't hear any noise when switching on. When taking the car in tow
getting the best from a 2.5 n/a diesel14 Nov 2004 23:32 GMT3
Now I've decided to keep my 2.5 n/a diesel I'd like to get the best
from it. it's done 226k miles.
I'll probably be fitting a reconditioned injector pump after snapping
the bleed screw housing off last week.

RR14 Nov 2004 21:44 GMT2
What's the verdict on the reliability of the new style RR - do random
bits still drop off whilst being mechanically sound or has the quality
really improved ?
My Amazon is due to be changed but based on the experience I had with

Does anyone remember a posting on here about a year ago listing a site which
you could check up on reg numbers and see what car they are registered
against.
range rover wheels14 Nov 2004 18:33 GMT4
Is it okay to swap over the 1975 range rover steel wheels to a rr
vogue which has alloys. I assume I would use the steel bolts that go
with them but wanted to check about any problems.
Thanks
New Noise in the Cab....14 Nov 2004 15:57 GMT17
So I gets in my Series One , Daisy , starts her up and drives off, only this
time ther is a loud intermitant buzzing in the cab. Looking around reveals
nothing out of the ordinary and all instraments appear ok. Something catches
my eye and it is then time to stamp on the brakes, ...
OT - but i'm sure someone here will have an idea14 Nov 2004 13:41 GMT36
Got a problem
Some complete sh*t broke into our stable yard last night - they cut the
metal around the padlocks on the 30foot container we use as a storage shed.
Our biggest problem with the location is that "rural" doesn't get close -
Pondering accessories14 Nov 2004 11:39 GMT2
I'm thinking of adding a few bits and bobs to my 90 for airsoft events,
notably a military-issue gun rack and a (magnetic) rotating beacon. Any
idea where to find them cheaply? (And, in the case of the beacon, how to
attach a magnetic beacon to an alloy roof?)
Bumper chop for series II Disco with brush bar14 Nov 2004 10:22 GMT2
I just bought a red, stock '00 with a Safari Rack.  I drove it around town
for a week or two.  Then I broke the  passenger front axle, bent the front
diff housing, and broke the front gears.  I had to tow it 200 miles from
Moab Utah, back to the dealer near Salt Lake City.  It ...
I've got my first Land Rover!13 Nov 2004 18:09 GMT12
...not to mention my first *car*. Collected it yesterday from Wiltshire
Land Rovers. And it's nice.
It's an 1987 ex-RAF Land Rover 90 hardtop, with a 2.5 n/a diesel. Still
got the flag and roundel stickers and everything, and apart from a
swapping for a bmw engine?13 Nov 2004 13:02 GMT8
I'm about to face a bill for a few hundred pounds for a variety of
jobs on my 2.5 n/a diesel engine in my 1984 110 csw.
another option is to transplant another engine, now this may not be an
obvious option but I may be able to get the engine from a 1990 bmw

Landrover Sportscar.13 Nov 2004 08:26 GMT7
Landrover are said to be working on a sports car of all things, hardly a
surprise as if any comany stands still for long it's going to be the death
of it. From my source I understand that recent suggestions of the use of the
Puma engine weren't far off the mark. Now they are ...
