| tyre size question | 02 Nov 2004 19:42 GMT | 1 |
I know that there has been a lot of posts regarding similar type questions, but I was wondering if I can get someone to help me make the right choice. The DILEMA: I'm wanting to ditch the General Grabbers (235/85R16) on my Defender(2003 110) which are laced onto alloy BOOST rims,

How's the RR 'enforced restoration' going? Is it finished yet? Any more pics? Monty is now road legal & is well sweet, although it might need something doing with the boot floor soon. I'm gonna give it a really good clean out now & give it a right good wash & brush up! I'm after a ...

| A rock and a hard place... | 02 Nov 2004 14:20 GMT | 13 |
Disco D1, V8 carb, manual, 3 door. I have a dilema, to put on a 2" lift or to fit larger diameter tyres... ..budget won't allow me to do both yet. My understanding is that a lift will give me greater axle articulation

| Power of 300TDi | 02 Nov 2004 09:34 GMT | 27 |
Hi Group I was coming home yesterday fighting a pretty fierce headwind in the recently overhauled 300Tdi Disco (auto). With a bulky, but light trailer behind (approx 2m [l] x 1,6m [w] x 1x6 [h] and about 400kgs) I was battling

| Brake Pistons... | 02 Nov 2004 08:13 GMT | 6 |
Just had a 5 minute job take - well it felt like forever... ..my brake pistons are pretty much shot - I actually bent and fractured a G-clamp trying to squeeze the piston back in. The big question is do I buy re-furb calipers or should I have a go at replacing the pistons and seals

| Forest Wire Kits | 01 Nov 2004 19:01 GMT | 38 |
Does anybody know of a source for Forest Wire Kits in the UK who aren't Scorpion racing? AFAICT they are just 1/4" Stainless Steel wire, some eyelets, a couple of turnbuckles and some mounting hardware - I suspect I can get something from

| radiator muff | 01 Nov 2004 16:34 GMT | 6 |
I have a SWB 1965 Series IIA.It's ex-military so also has an oil cooler. I use it for light work on-road. Come the cooler months it takes ages to warm up as you can guess. I've been thinking about a rad muff but some people have said it doesn't make much difference?!

| Disco Series II 6CD Changer | 01 Nov 2004 12:18 GMT | 3 |
Not quite as stupid as it sounds but can anyone tell me where the factory fit changer is located? I haven't taken delivery of mine yet but was hoping to use the space under the passenger seat for development kit we test. It's just ocurred to me

| Magnetic spanner bar thingymie... | 01 Nov 2004 11:19 GMT | 3 |
As in something you screw to the wall and, erm, stick your spanners to. I can't immediately see them in the Machine Mart Catalogue. Anyone know what I mean - or where I could get a couple?

| Series III - sound proofing | 01 Nov 2004 09:35 GMT | 7 |
Grateful for advice on sound proofing a Series III 2.25 diesel. We are travelling to Scotland in December and the thought of 600miles on a motorway is not a pleasant one. There is a kit available but costs ?250 which is a bit steep. Has any one

| Discovery Springs - For Sale | 01 Nov 2004 08:24 GMT | 1 |
I'm having a clearout, and this is the first thing that I bounced off when clearing the garage. If anybody wants them, I have a set of original fitment springs off a 200 Disco (1993) which although used are not actually knackered.

| Radio interference | 01 Nov 2004 01:14 GMT | 9 |
Just fitted a radio to my Series 3 which works great until I switch on other things like heater fan, wipers or cooling fan. When ever any of these are running there is a lot of crackling, this is mainly when listening to the radio but also a bit when playing tapes.
