Italian help wanted28 Nov 2004 11:34 GMT23
I am a Land Rover enthousiast from Holland. I wondered if an Italian reader
could probably help me.
I own a Series III 109 pickup, called Fango, which I completely restored
last year. See (in Dutch) my website : www.blubberweb.tk
OT: Ratchet type Cargo straps28 Nov 2004 11:31 GMT9
I need some cargo ratchet straps to secure loads down in my van (1000gk
pallets of Limestone).
Anyone know of any suppliers of these things that don't charge the earth.
The ones with hooks on the end, not the type that you use on roof racks.
Bonnet mounting spare on TD528 Nov 2004 02:30 GMT15
I've just ordered a new 110 CSW and there is no option for a bonnet mount
spare with the TD5 engine?
does anyone know why, as the spare makes the back door really heavy and cuts
down rear Viz?
Rooftop tents28 Nov 2004 02:27 GMT5
Has anyone here used a rooftop tent before? I'm thinking about getting
something like that, but not just for "camping" out in the middle of
nowhere.  I am an avid kart fan and it will be used to provide some amount
of shelter while at the racetrack (roadrace kart/car tracks) and ...
engine oil additives28 Nov 2004 01:41 GMT14
I just got some leaflets through the post from Millers Oils this
morning, one of the leaflets is rattling on about a couple of new
products..
'stop leak' and 'engine flush' both are oil additives and I'm sure
Sleepy Discovery27 Nov 2004 20:32 GMT10
My G/Fs children recently complained that they get sleepy in my
discovery on even fairly short journeys. I'm certain I don't have an
exhaust leak - it's regularly serviced and I can't smell it and can't
work out what else could be causing it. My thoughts are a) motion
2.0 Mpi27 Nov 2004 19:22 GMT9
Can someone tell me whats wrong with the 2.0 Mpi models ?
The prices are about ?2000 below the TDI prices for the same year so
something must be going on, but I read the reviews at www.parkers.co.uk and
owners say that they are not underpowered.
freeelander headgasket27 Nov 2004 18:04 GMT3
After my freelander blow up.I now have had my headgasket replaced ( under
Warranty, 3 Mths left) and all seems to be ok. To say that it's a "off
Roader" it seems pretty fragile with a lot of  previous problems. My next
question is how long is the new Head gasket going to last? ...
Well done..27 Nov 2004 16:22 GMT9

V-high miles27 Nov 2004 15:22 GMT9
Is what exactly with regard to a 2.5dt ?
As I have just brought one (R reg Disco) covering some 160k.
Is that so grim on a diesel?
I'm worried now, ;)
Red Ken gone mad?27 Nov 2004 14:23 GMT11
I am sitting here dealing with a few E-mails with the Tv on in the
background and heard the last section of a news report detailing the fact
that 'Red (I hate cars) Ken Livingstone' is planning to increase the tax on
4 x 4's in London, whether that is RFL or Congestion charge I ...
OT mobile and online27 Nov 2004 13:56 GMT17
ok, here's a question that I am sure can be answered here.
What do I need to have mobile access to the internet whilst out and
about?
I'm thinking laptop based via a mobile phone network somehow.
Red ken Update27 Nov 2004 13:49 GMT10
Following my previous post, again, on the TV which, generally transmits
banal crap continuously about such earth shattering subjects as the latest
big brother with trees, the odd snippet shines.
This time Ken has has stated that 4 x 4 vehicles in London cause damage to
OT (sort of) UK Drivers are the best IMHO27 Nov 2004 10:55 GMT8
Well I just got back to Australia after a 3 month swan around the UK and
Northern Europe and I gotta say that UK drivers have to be some of the most
polite people on the road. I know there are going to be the exceptions to
the rule but I only seemed to have met people who were ...
Venetion bilnds (on-topic, honest!)27 Nov 2004 03:38 GMT3
Now don't laugh...
Marge (110CSW) currently has tinted windows, achieved by the use of
stick-on stuff. This is fine for driver's/passengers' windows, and the
middle row, but I find the tint in the back windows a nuisance,
