| RR 4.0 gone musical | 26 Nov 2004 18:37 GMT | 5 |
After turning off the motor of my '98 RR 4.0 after a 1/2 hr drive, a distinct 'musical' note comes from the rear of the vehicle. It's somewhere around G above middle C, and gradually dies away after 5 minutes or so. The car doesn't drop noticeably either.

Have just had an answer to a previous question regarding noises which materialise as Pre-Heater noises on my TD4 LS Freelander. How does this Pre-Heater work. Many thanks for the original answer to Paula but I was unaware that I had a Pre-heater!
