Never ending story - Landies, lubrication and the wild blue yonder16 Nov 2004 15:31 GMT4
Took my disco on the longest trip I've tried this weekend - from
Buckinghamshire all the way out to the Morvern peninsula - something like
1100 miles round trip.
Things I could have done without were the burning oil smells and the nasty

It looks like the rocker cover gasket needs to be replaced because it's
bleeding oil. Looks like a lot, but the level at the dipstick isn't going

suspension clonk16 Nov 2004 10:00 GMT4
I have a clonking noise from the rear of my 200Tdi Discovery. It occurs when
driving over a bump (like speedbumps) on the rebound (i.e. when the rear of
the car is over the bump, has gone down and comes up again) at the end of
the travel.

I'm having a battle with my local Ford dealer now, they put a new axle
in my 95 disco, and about 3 days later it started making noise like the
1st one did. This time I was in the city so I took it to a shop that
knew their way around rovers, and they tell me that the hub end did ...
18 years old insured on a 12 seat 110 CSW.15 Nov 2004 23:30 GMT2
Just got a quote from insurance co. for daughter to learn to drive the 12
seat 110. I thought you had to be 21 to drive 12 seats; however it seems
that age for learning on 12 seat is 18 if no passengers are carried  (apart
from qualified driver). To insure for year on my cover with ...
Top rail of radiator lifting in RRC 3.5 Efi15 Nov 2004 22:55 GMT3
Lifted the bonnet for the pre-MOT glance (it's on Thursday) to see that
the nearside end of the top plate on the radiator has become detached
from the end piece of the rad - looks as though the soldering has
fractured).  It is not impossible that this has been the situation for

land rover owner test15 Nov 2004 18:06 GMT16
I was contemplating, while giving the disco it's monthly blast with the
pressure washer, one of those mutliple-choice tests to establish whether you
are, by nature, a LR owner...
some sample questions follow, feel free to add ones.  If we get it sorted,
