Keep those details coming in on the reliability survey (about 15 postings

My rear wash has packed in. (2000MY RR 4.0) Can't find a fuse that covers
it. The wiper still works but no sound or action from the rear washer

Having run-out of fuel a few months ago (oops) I found that the low
fuel warning lamp wasn't working, I've since heard that many others

ZF 4-speed auto .... problem?08 Dec 2004 19:10 GMT10
This is either simple or expensive.  My '85 RR with 4-speed ZF auto box
seems to lock up its torque converter a tad early.  The gear changes from a
standing start are all there and nicely smooth but the converter locks up at
a fraction over 40mph (and unlocks at about the same on ...
Disco Turrets08 Dec 2004 14:41 GMT5
in a thread I've mislaid, someone, I think it was Llama David, had a price
for 1" lower than standard galvanised turrets.
Seems the MOT is a bit nearer than I thought, and he won't pass the turrets
that are on it (not surprising, there's a damned great hole in one), so I'm

rocker shaft08 Dec 2004 12:50 GMT2
Anybody got any tips on removing the rocker shaft from a 2.25 petrol engine?
I've got a tappet that's starved of oil and I'm assuming there's a blocked
oilway.  I'm a bit nervous about taking the rocker shaft off, as the
diagrams show little bits and pieces with the potential to ...
cambelt renewal, also tensioner?08 Dec 2004 08:40 GMT2
When changing the cambelt on a 200TDi (Discovery) is it advisable to also
change the tensioner and idler pulleys? Or is this just a 300TDi issue?
Thanks,
Pieter

turbo tolerances ?07 Dec 2004 20:15 GMT6
In my 200 Tdi engine project's turbo, the radial play in the compressor
shaft is roughly 10 thou. Is this normal, and absorbed by temperature
changes/oil pressure, or does it need new bearings ?
Thanks.
Smok while downhill with engine brake07 Dec 2004 18:04 GMT6

Defender 90 starts to exhaust smoke. Engine is a 2.5 td. Normal
