Disco 200Tdi into Defender?07 Dec 2004 17:45 GMT4
Will a Disco 200Tdi engine fit into a Defender without a huge
and totally uneconomic amount of modification? They do seem
cheaper than the "proper" ones.
Just need to settle an argument and I'm too lazy to Google!<g>

Piston rings, late 2 1/4 diesel...06 Dec 2004 22:43 GMT4
Had a very odd noise from my engine on Friday... a loud clattering noise,
running as ruff as hell and down to only 3 cylinders when I revved it up.
Lots of smoke. Got some red glowing bits out of the exhaust (straight though
silencer). Not good! So, on Saturday off came the head as ...

I've just bought my first Land Rover, a Defender 90, 300 Tdi. Now, to put
the finishing touches to it, I want to fit sliding windows. I would have
bought one with them already fitted if I could have found one before this
particular beauty came on the scene. However, before I go ...

Help identifying loose pipe or clip?06 Dec 2004 15:48 GMT4
Returning to my 04 Disco TD5 Auto today I noticed what appear to be a loose
pipe hanging down around the front axle.  A closer look revealed that could
perhaps be a breather, it is about 3ft long and begins at the transfer box
and leads forward, the end is hooked and is currently ...
