Series 3 width.....09 Feb 2005 08:45 GMT2
Hi there, Sorry for the lame question.... but could anyone tell me the width
of my SWB series 3, from the outside of each tyre.
I'm going to pick it up on a trailer and I'm unable to measure up before I
do and want to make sure it will fit on the trailer....
Knocking noise from Disco rear brakes09 Feb 2005 08:44 GMT10
I'll try to keep this brief.  I'm looking for advice along the lines
of "Take it straight back and complain" or "Sounds fair enough".

Clicking08 Feb 2005 23:42 GMT5
Defender 110 2.5 Tdi - 1992 vintage.
Going round right angled corner - I get a clicking as though something is
wedged in the tyre tread - it is road speed consistent.
Checked all the tyres and that nothing is fouling etc.  Clicking appears to
Bloody brilliant.08 Feb 2005 22:18 GMT3
LT230, input gear.  On the face of it, it ought to slide out, but it bloody
doesn't.  and for why?  the gear on the intermediate shaft behind is isn't
too big (appears to be the same size), but the bloody thing's out of phase
such that the teeth run into eachother, buggrit.
Strange mobile camera08 Feb 2005 22:08 GMT30
Yesterday whilst driving along the Chertsey Road (40mph) from Staines Bridge
I came across a white van parked on the pavement with some of those red and
white poles/boards around it. On closer inspection I could see two cameras
on tripods inside the barriers at the back of the ...
Carequality?08 Feb 2005 22:02 GMT12
Has anyone had any dealings with this firm?  They are advertising
repatriated Tdi Discoveries from Japan, all low mileage and rust-free.  From
the ads (LRO etc), they sound great, although not cheap.  Never off-roaded,
never used for towing, no salt on Japanese roads, great ...
Disco Autobox questions08 Feb 2005 21:54 GMT3
Been having a look round for a replacement for the RRC and have found a L
reg 300 Tdi Auto Disco sat on a forecourt.  Had a quick poke round it today
and the only thing i could find wrong with it was a small oil leak from the
back end of the gearbox.  A quick smearing of oil on my ...
P38a Air Conditioning08 Feb 2005 21:52 GMT6
My 1998 P38a has a slow leak (3 weeks to go down) in the evaporator unit of
the a/c, behind the dashboard.  My local LR agent has quoted about ?1300 to
replace it, made up of ?280 for the part, 9 hours' labour (because of all
the dismantling needed) and VAT.

Scratches on windscreen08 Feb 2005 21:00 GMT7
The inside of the windscreen on my series 3 is covered in thousands of very
fine scratches, probably from trying to clear the condensation all the time.
The trouble is it is making it hard on the eyes to drive at night, is there
some sort of polish I can use to hide the scratches?
