Axle dry as a bone!04 Feb 2005 13:42 GMT3
Just got back from Japan & had a look under the 88" The repairs haven't
worked for the porous rear axle & there is a nice oil slick in the works car
park!!! I fear there is no oil in the damn thing now!
Anyone got a decent rear axle (not inc diff) I can purchase?
Thank You04 Feb 2005 13:25 GMT5
Big thank to to Rod (?) from Bebbington in the red 110 who stopped when my
RR decided to reject the recent heart transplant by dumping it's ATF from
the g box.
Nice to know that if a bonnet is up, the old Land Rover code still applies
Wobbly door mirror on RRC04 Feb 2005 11:11 GMT2
Subject says it all really.
I've had to refit my wobbly door mirror as some female came blasting
round a blind corner in a Disco and smashed the previously fitted
non-wobbly mirror without so much as a backward glance.   Clearly my air
Black Vinyl Seat Covering04 Feb 2005 10:52 GMT4
Anbody got any ideas where I can source plain black vinyl for
recovering my Series Seats? Want to buy it by the yard and recover
them myself, rather than pay for a new set of seats.

Quick Q... LPG filling nozzels?04 Feb 2005 07:31 GMT4
Just a quickie... (Oh Matron!)
Er.. what's the UK spec for the filling nozzles for LPG kits? Is it some
sort of bayonet fitting? Just wondering as I'm putting together a DIY jobby
from bits. My local scrap yard has two Jeeps with LPG kits but one seem to
V8 modification04 Feb 2005 07:29 GMT15
Hi ! Is modifying/converting a V8 3.5 EFI engine into a 3.9 a matter of
overboring and changing pistons ? What about the electronics(Air Mass
Meter, ECU, throttle pot and plenum etc.,etc.)which are different ?
I kow it's cheaper to buy a complete V8 3.9 EFI engine, but shipping it

Discovery TD5 immobilised HELP03 Feb 2005 19:40 GMT7
I was adding some new accessories to fuse no 6 the cigar lighter circuit ,
when I pulled the fuse the alarms went off and the engine is now
immobilised. I cant reset the system with either one of  the 2 remote fobs I
have, I have tried the emergency key access, loads of times with ...
A little 'thank you' and some more advice please...03 Feb 2005 19:08 GMT12
About 18 months ago I posted a cry for help to this newsgroup.
Father-in-law wanted to resurrect a SIII 109 Safari that had been stuck
in a barn for 10 years not moving and I hadn't a clue what I was doing.
Many replies followed with advice on first steps including one
I've seen the light - Discovery no more!!!03 Feb 2005 19:04 GMT20
I've recently got rid of my Discovery and 'discovered' a Suzuki jimny
instead - and let me tell you this thing ROCKS! with Far superior
off-road performance and rugged looks to match, I find myself leaving
Discovery/Range Rover owners behind in a cloud of their own smelly
messed with my diesel pump03 Feb 2005 17:29 GMT1
on my 2.5na, smoke test was hit and miss fail sometimes 3 sometimes 2.5.
Asked diesel dude and he told me to screw the fuel screw out a turn, so I
did and checked the preformance on the way home.
It seemed to pull the same up long hills, so next day at work I gave it a
Mantec Wheel Carrier03 Feb 2005 17:12 GMT5
Following comments on this list I bought one and eventually managed to
fit it. It's designed for the bottom bracket to use the bolt holes for
the right rear grab handle. Which is fine if you have a "normal" rear
chassis cross member. Mine isn't, probably because it's a 50th
Rangie 4.6 HSE temperature gauge03 Feb 2005 17:05 GMT1
The temp gauge has gone all strange!  From cold, it indicates almost 1/2
way, and when at the car's normal temperature it indicates in the middle of
the red with the overheat red LED lit.  The car is definitely not
overheating.  Any ideas where I should start looking?  The LR ...

I am booking my Freelander into a dealer for a 24k service. I have no
apparent problems and was wondering how much this service costs.
