Hi all: I replaced a broken cruise control switch on my steering wheel
today  (1999 Disco 2) and after putting all back together I have the
SRS light staying on in instrument panel.
I was wondering if there is a reset button or something one must do
Don't you just love old electrics?03 Mar 2005 11:00 GMT11
Last time I used 'Jasmine' (just before Xmas) the windscreen wipers packed
up for no apparent reason.
Had a good look yesterday - fuse was blown. Checked for faults, couldn't
find anything wrong, replaced fuse, worked fine.
Disco II CD Player Question03 Mar 2005 03:45 GMT3
Just bought a '99 Discovery II with 74K miles - incidently paid $12,500 US.
One owner, good maintenance records. Did I get an OK deal?
Anyway, my real question is it has the Harmon Kardon radio, but no cd
player. It does have the CD button, but nothing under the seat. I heard that ...
Dampers02 Mar 2005 22:29 GMT7
Just had a good one. The rear of the disco was a bit bouncy on the passenger
side, came on all of a sudden. Got two new gas shocks to fit in stead of the
standard ones. Took off rear wheel to find the top of the shock had parted
company with the shaft. No wonder it was bouncy. ...

PANHARD Rod01 Mar 2005 19:11 GMT2
Does anyone know what the purpose of the Panhard Rod on a Disco is? To me it
seems to stabilize the steering box only. Any knowledgeable persons out
there?

Starter motor01 Mar 2005 10:46 GMT3
How 'repairable' is the 300Tdi starter motor?  I've looked in the manual
I have and it only tells you how to fit and remove it.
I suspect that a build up of crud may be affecting the solenoid as
sometimes it's a bit reluctant to turn over.  In the past I stripped,
report - brake adjuster kit series III01 Mar 2005 10:46 GMT4
As Richard ( Mr Beamends ) stated. The Bearmach adjuster kit was superior
but I couldn't tell you why. The snail cam was slightly thicker. The cam
fitted on the drive slightly tighter. I had to make up the fitting just
like the BritPart one. There were no instructions for the LR. ...
Pressurized sump 300Tdi01 Mar 2005 09:16 GMT6
I've noticed my 300Tdi Disco seems to be running a bit rough on tickover.
If it were a petrol engine you'd swear it was missing on one cylinder. Seems
fine at other engine speeds.
On further investigation I've found the sump to be pressurizing.Take out the
200Tdi Head.01 Mar 2005 09:14 GMT9

Can the 200Tdi cylinder head be skimmed ?
According to the service manual it can't, according to my engine re-bore

the clutch in before starting the engine, and when I do I get a short
whiring sound from the rear of the dash, ( rear of Clocks area Etc ),
