I have just get insurance from sureterm for my 'new' disco. They have stated
that I should have a cat 2 Thatcham immobiliser fitted.
My question is what 'cat' is a standard LR immobiliser.
If not 'good' enough then how much is a 'good' one, any recommendations.

I have just started my 5 bearing 2.25 diesel after 4 years standstill.
It is very hard to start and smokes white. I suspect it is a timing
problem??? Is it posible to time yourself or is the problem elsewhere?

On my daily travels in Aberdeenshire (Turriff > Inverurie > Aberdeen) I

300tdi Engine problem result22 Mar 2005 09:34 GMT5
The owner of the dead Disco finally arrived back home and he called to say
he just removed the ancillary belt and the engine started first time so it

Freelander rear door problem22 Mar 2005 00:22 GMT2
Any one heard of this one. My mate's wife has a '99 Freelander diesel. Just
recently the central locking has started "chattering" and to her horror, the
rear door lowers its window fully, and the door swings open whilst in
transit. The rear door should lower its glass by an inch ...
300tdi Engine problems21 Mar 2005 21:14 GMT18
A neighbour is driving his 300tdi Disco in early hours of morning when it
stops, engine cuts out, he tries to restart but engine won't turn over.
Battery has been on it's last legs for a while so suspects that may be why
it won't restart/turn over.

Abandoned Series 2A20 Mar 2005 20:59 GMT4
Just come back from a few days away in N. Cornwall and round the back of the
cottage we stayed in was a late, tax exempt, Series 2a that was obviously
abandoned. Took a quick look and it seemed straight and the chassis didn't
look too bad, had FWH's and Overdrive. Would come up ...
