designers...14 Mar 2005 15:42 GMT18
I'd like to meet the bloke who's responsible for the front end of the 300
TDi, so I can shake him heartily by the balls and tell him what I think of
it.
I reckon all designers should be forced to do 12 months as an apprentice

Pressurized sump cured.14 Mar 2005 10:51 GMT1
I have my Disco back from Ritters in Melbourne.
The bill was rather more than I thought but then it always seems that way
these days.
The problem was a pressurized sump.
Is Premium fuel necessary in 4.0 '99 Disco in Canada?14 Mar 2005 09:10 GMT2
Just Curious if the additives in Premium fuel are worth the higher
price. I see Chevron has a techron concentrate additive in a bottle
you can use to help clean out and reduce deposits. Would this work?
I think our octane levels are 87, 89, and 94 for the most part in

Dear Sirs,
Can anyone help me:
I've got a 90 from Jan-'86, V8.
Someone put K&N's on it, now I can't drive on petrol (only LPG) because I've
'97 build RR 4.0 and O2 sensors13 Mar 2005 23:46 GMT1
Hmm.
I've been told by the local dealer that my car needs a new left O2
sensor, price around $450AU, and that I should also replace the right
side one at the same time- but it's around $1100. Symptoms are a rough
NATO tow hook / pintle13 Mar 2005 20:58 GMT6
Does anyone know the bolt size required to fit a NATO hook, and what
the dimensions are for the mounting holes?
If they do, could they please tell me?

Off topic (But a Ford!) Just bought a 1995 Mondeo today to use as a cheap
runaround. We cant turn the alarm off (didnt get a handbook with it). Anyone

HT coils !!!!!!!13 Mar 2005 11:06 GMT4
Hi all bit off topic but its for a range rover so I suppose its sort of
related. I need a coil for a 6 cylinder engine and don't know what to go
for, would any old coil do or does it need to be suitable for a 6 cylinder
engine to take in to account the recharge time between sparks ...
Tappet replacement cost on 96 3.9 V813 Mar 2005 09:38 GMT4
Got a noisy tappet on my 96 V8 ES - just the one by the sound of it (
Cylinder closest to the steering wheel - if that makes sense!!) how much
should I be looking at to replace em all ? aren't the bout ?3 each ?

Rigid Back End12 Mar 2005 22:16 GMT9
Ok, sounds painful, and when I hit the bumps it is!!
It's an early 88in Series 3, and the back end seems extremely harsh.
It's ok hitting a bump, but 'dropping' off anything is really nasty.
It looks to me as though the shocks are at full extension, which I'm sure
92 RR  not getting fuel to rail12 Mar 2005 20:24 GMT14
My 92 Classic sputtered to a halt today. I figured I ran out of fuel,
so I put about a 1/2 gallan in. I haven't been able to start it since.
I pulled the fuel line at the rail and it is not getting any fuel up
there. I concluded that it was fuel relay, fuel inertia, or fuel pump.
gearbox oil additives12 Mar 2005 20:23 GMT5
anyone tried gearbox oil additives (slick 50 or equivalent) in LT230s, and
with what results?
the T-box on mine is still whiny, after fitting a new input gear (not much
to my surprise...)  There's not much backlash in it, so I think it's pretty
