Series leaf springs.31 Jul 2005 15:46 GMT17
Anyone gone to the trouble of taking 'em off, stripping the springs down to
their component leaves, cleaning and greasing and re-assembling 'em?
and if so, was it worth the effort?
Range rover airconditioning fail31 Jul 2005 13:36 GMT3
all,
in my 97 RR 4.6 HSE the airconditioning works great except when it it really
warm and the car just ran for about 15-20 minutes. When shut down, let rest
for 5 minutes and restart the AC fails to work and does so untill the next
LR Disco One Keys30 Jul 2005 16:14 GMT7
I am down to one alarm transponder key fob thingy for my disco ser 1. (The
squeaker was kind enough to drop the other one in some orange juice). I have
no doubt that LR will demand some astronimical sum for a new one, but are
there any alternatives short of redoing half the ...
disco swivel seal replacement30 Jul 2005 15:28 GMT3
another item on the to do list is one of the swivels is weeping grease. the
previous owner had both swivels filled with one shot grease but one side is
leaking slightly, he just topped it up every service but I would like to
repair it properly. looking at the swivel kits the most ...
Disco serpentine belt30 Jul 2005 12:02 GMT7
anyone got any recommendations for a low- (or better yet no-) squeak belt?
The one that's on it (might be uniprat) is as squeaky as a squeaky thing in
squeak season, that's being paid overtime to squeak more.  Tried various
different substances thereon, none of them stop the squeak ...
Bullbars30 Jul 2005 11:30 GMT2
Hi,,
Before anyone leaps on me for wanting to put bullbars on my Landover, let me
explain,, I live on the Outer Hebrides,, where the sheep and the deer are
not very road wise and  I have had a good few near misses with Stags,, sheep
Inlet manifold stuck on29 Jul 2005 00:21 GMT3
I've started to change the head gasket on my 3.9, however the inlet manifold
won't budge.  All 12 bolts have been removed, but it appears that at some
point its been off before, as there appears to be a load of sealent oozing
out.
Possibly a very silly question28 Jul 2005 21:52 GMT1
RR 1991 3.9 auto EFI
I have just bought a tow bar complete with drop plate, support arms etc....
The position of the drag arms is obvious and so is the verticle bolts that
go through the drop plate into the rear cross member.
defender push button door lock sticking28 Jul 2005 19:28 GMT4
I have a 200Tdi K plate Defender CSW with push button door locks.
It is becoming incresingly difficult to open the door from the outside
with the key. When it choses to stick, no amount of (reasonable)
turning force will unlock the door. When it doesn't stick it opens
Rear grab handles.28 Jul 2005 19:12 GMT10
Mein Gott. My beloved and I spent the most excruciating hour and a half this
afternoon attaching two of the above mentioned handles to the rear
crossmember of our 90. There must be someone in Solihull who is very well
advanced in his sadism apprenticeship. I didn't know fingers ...

All eletrickery bits seem to work fine (fan motor runs, but blows cold
air).

Radiator hiss - dangerous?28 Jul 2005 10:27 GMT15
Esteemed and wise folk,
my S3 diesel's radiator started hissing after I got home from work today - a
small stream of steam is coming out of somewhere I can't quite see.
How dangerous is it for me to keep her topped up with water and keep
Roof Tents + Paint28 Jul 2005 09:11 GMT19
Used one in Namibia, think it was an eezi-awn. Seemed really good and was
nice to sleep in. Am toying with the idea of one. Any thoughts, comments or
recommendations would be appreciated. Think I will have a look at some at
malvern or peterborough.
