Hi all, looking for a bit of advice on the purchase of a high lift style
jack. I own a defender 90 and currently have no way of jacking it if I get a
flat.
What are the pro's and con's of the hi lifts? Where do they attach to the
Range Rover Classic09 Aug 2005 19:35 GMT2

Not sure whether that is me or my landie
Anyway it is close to *that* time of the year and so she is an MOT failure,

Disco 1 spare wheel08 Aug 2005 21:56 GMT10
Sorry if this seems a stupid question, but -
Are the hubs the same on Discos with alloy and steel wheels?  I have alloys
on the road wheels but the spare is a steel item.  After a puncture in
france I managed to hobble the few kilometres to a garage with the alloy
Tell me I can't do this08 Aug 2005 21:36 GMT5
I've just had an idea - it's so obvious it must be wrong!
I want to raise the gearing on the S2a to make it a bit easier on the road.
Overdrives and high-ratio t-boxes are expensive and I've just spent all my
pocket money on a new head and carb.

Squeaky Mantec spare carrier08 Aug 2005 10:01 GMT11
Any body who owns a Mantec swing away spare carrier?  Mine squeaks so badly
when opening and closing... I think the sound comes from that ill designed
plastic cylinder rubbing against badly rusted steel casing.  I sprayed tons
of lubricant but to no avail.
Bump stops & MOT07 Aug 2005 23:13 GMT2
It's that time again, and I've been too busy to do stuff before the
price rise :(
Anyway, crawling underneath shows up some things that need attention:
Rear bump stops - brackets have rusted and one is missing. Are they a
Insurance07 Aug 2005 22:08 GMT9
I've been getting some good insurance quotes recently for my series 3 SWB V8
but they all seem to have a big restriction on the cover provided, something
like this:
