| Jacking a defender: diff box or middle of the axle? | 20 Aug 2005 10:52 GMT | 2 |
All, The workshop manual says that a defender should be jacked by its diff boxes, stating to be careful because these are not centred. Indeed, when I do that, I can't seem to be able to lift the opposite wheel without having to

| Discovery 2a Gearbox - What warranty ?? | 20 Aug 2005 10:10 GMT | 20 |
My 54 plate Discovery 2a TD5 (6500 miles) has a really lousy gearbox. 2nd to 3rd is without schyncromesh 50% of the time and the gear is engaged with a nasty clunk that allows you to feel the teeth engaging as it kicks back through the gear lever.
