dodgy starter motor06 Oct 2005 22:05 GMT3
Dear font of all knowledge that is alt.fan.landrover,
My (series 3 2 1/4 petrol 12v) starter motor sometimes just spins without
engaging when I turn the key, normally turning the key again solves the
problem but recently it has been getting a lot worse.
Recomended LR insurers please.06 Oct 2005 21:13 GMT15
I recently had an accident, (not my fault - I was t-boned by a Escort van
pulling out of a junction as I drove past) I was told I could not get it
fixed at a 'Land Rover' garage or dealer but only the insurers approved
repairers. Bugger I thought, but I needed it doing and I ...

Buggerit! We can't come to the unofficial weekender now. I have just landed a very nice contract for my
business that means I am now working evening until 8pm & Sundays all day! It's a bloody big job for us &
I really couldn't let it go.
Well cheesed of for one reason & well happy ...
Spitting sound at 2.5K to 3-ishK revs on medium load06 Oct 2005 19:35 GMT6
My RR V8 EFi 1988 has started to make a spitting sound at between 2500
and 3500 (or so) revs under medium load.  I either can't hear it or it
stops at higher revs and/or heavy load.  I can't hear it off load which
makes the guesswork of tracing it less than easy.

Sat here day dreaming about how to develope Percy in his next
transformation and it dawned on my that he would be much more user
friendly with a walk through in the bulkhead (He's a swb IIa for those
not paying attention ;0) )
North East Man finally given approval to own LR by wife...06 Oct 2005 17:15 GMT12
...however, there is a catch, it has to be v.v.v.v. cheap like. I am after a vehicle to launch a boat on the beach basically a S11A S111 would be great.  It is to be kept off road and only used off-road and so at the base level an almost knackered old rolling chassis will do. If ...
Which LPG system for Discovery?06 Oct 2005 15:25 GMT2
Have had various quotes for fitting LPG to our Discovery.
Prins, OVML,LandiRezno are only three of the makes and all of them were
about the same price apart from the Prins, which was more expensive but came
with a 2 year warranty.
