How easy is it to replace the control cable for the air direction
(car/windscreen) on a series 3?
Anyone know if these are still available?
TD5 Turbo Noise04 Oct 2005 20:21 GMT7
Should I be concerned about a whirring noise that comes from the
vicinity of the turbo when I switch off?  You can feel the vibration
in the gear lever and hear the noise in the cabin (doors & windows
shut).

Discovery Faults04 Oct 2005 13:31 GMT5
A few months ago, I bought a Q-reg LR Disco 2.5 Tdi.  I think it's a
1992 model.  A great all-rounder, it's already a firm favourite with
the family.  However, it's got 2 faults which I'm wondering if anyone
can shed any light on.

When I drive it levels up again.

Just taken the rangie in for the re-test and a different guy looked at it.
He has only gone and found more things to do!
1 - Front to Rear brakepipes. Can you get these pre-bent? Or is it a case of
finding someone local to make them? Are they hard to fit?
radio03 Oct 2005 21:12 GMT3
Looking for a Disco radio, standard fit in an ES model 1997 'P' plate. I
would like one to keep the car as it is. Many thanks John
Disco on fire!03 Oct 2005 14:29 GMT9
Went on a guided tour of the NT's Clandon House first thing today. Yes I
know that might sound a bit boring, but on parking and getting out of my car
I noticed a Disco parked on it's own across the car park and what appeared
to be light smoke wafting out from under the bonnet.

My Disco TD5 1999 (pride and joy cost me 19K 3 yrs ago) has this intermittent fault:

I experience a scaping sound when lift my foot of the trottle.
E.g. I drive 100 km/h in fifth gear, lift foot of the trotlle, then the cars
speed decreases and between 70 and 60 I hear a pretty loud squizing/scraping

3. If you follow option 2 put the new pair on the rear axle and not the

Hi all, I'm looking for your wisdom to help me look in the right places...
My Disco 300Tdi has, for the last few mornings, been really reluctant to
fire. It turns over healthily, although I think there's a slight flickering
about the battery light which I've not noticed before - ...
