| Help! Wipers taken over by demonic spirit | 13 Nov 2005 06:31 GMT | 3 |
My 1996 defender 90 300Tdi has been taken over by some demonic spirit which won't let me switch off the wipers :-( Got in tonight to go to work and realised I must have left the stalk in the 'on' position but I couldn't switch them off at all.

RRC electric mirror switch? I don't want to a buy a new one unless I'm sure the reason i can't move them is the switch. It suddenly started working yesterday, then after changing mirrors it stopped again so it probably is the switch. It's a non-soft dash 1993 LSE.

Just been looking at Witham SVs Tender site and was wondering... Are 7.5x16 usable on a Disco 1? Given this is an MOD lot I'm guessing they'll probably be Goodyear G90s. Any thoughts?

Dear Group, I bought a troopi and am going to do some beach driving and would like to rust proof my Landi. It has been suggested that I spray sump oil inside the chassis.

| Oh the Defender - a Brake problem | 12 Nov 2005 09:27 GMT | 5 |
Well decided to fit new my new Stainless steel hoses today - did first one (Drivers side) and decided to do the pads at the same time. Guess what - couldn't get the pistons to go back on the caliper on one side. So after 2 hours of trying I have ordered a new Caliper. Do they ...

| Strange vehicle................. | 12 Nov 2005 00:07 GMT | 8 |
In Sheffield today, looked like a 101 but was more 'foreign' looking. It looked FFR & was Nato type green. It was a left hooker. I saw it up near the Children's hospital. Looked nice! Anyone know what it is? I was down London road this afternoon but never saw Grumble ;( Nige

| Sh*t happens.... and how... | 11 Nov 2005 23:19 GMT | 16 |
Well, while you're enjoying the fireworks, I've been sat here with local plod* going over CCTV footage from last night - when, at 20.05hrs (while I was talking to Simon on the dog-n-bone) some little scrote - after thinking they'd disabled the CCTV (one camera knocked

| Problem Disco | 11 Nov 2005 20:23 GMT | 2 |
My 93 Disco V8i auto (lpg converted) of 136,000 miles, has just stalled as I went to pull away from a roundabout. As I put my foot on the gas,(it was not a heavy foot) there was a "nock" of some kind from the engine bay and was felt throw the gas peddle.

| Kangarooing Range Rover | 11 Nov 2005 19:47 GMT | 1 |
I've got a 1983 Range Rover which is just back on the road having been sitting for 6 months, and it seems to have developed a rather strange and worrying "kangarooing" or knocking about 50 mph. It's got a three speed auto in it, which was reconditioned 10 years ago. It seems

| Defender head-lights. | 11 Nov 2005 19:30 GMT | 21 |
Any lighting gurus out there? I'm not impressed with the head-lights on my L reg 90, these dark nights the light seems to come out of the lamp, trickle across the front bumper and fall on the road about five yards in front. This is even after the mud has

| V8 Oil cooler pipes query. | 11 Nov 2005 18:42 GMT | 1 |
Right having compiled a mass of parts for Morph I'm going to get cracking next week making them into something which again resembles a V8. I have a couple of other jobs to do which it would make sense to do at the same time given the change of fluids too.

| 101 on LPG | 11 Nov 2005 18:40 GMT | 36 |
Just done a pile of recent mileage records to check our 101's fuel economy. Ours is recording around 10 miles to the gallon unloaded, 8.5 dragging a a loaded trailer. Is this fairy 'nuff, or should I be looking for better ? I am not heavy footed in it. Its just been tuned up and ...

The one who decided that the brake pipe bracket on the disco front axle should not only be secured by *both* top swivel bearing bolts (meaning that the top swivel bearing has to be loosened completely to remove the bracket), but in addition made it so that the brake pipe runs across ...
