On Broken Into Cars08 Nov 2005 08:35 GMT13
Apparently last night was a doozy - at 4pm today neither Autoglass nor
Auto Windscreens were booking any more appointments for today and half
of tomorrow had gone - apparently the toerags were using the cover of
loud banging sounds to cover them breaking into cars.

Low octane, leaded fuel in 3.5V8 from SD1 in 101...07 Nov 2005 21:14 GMT2
I'm thinking about my Africa trip, and thoughts turn to petrol.
My engine is a 3.5V8 from an SD1 - this is the high compression version
- running on SU HIF44 carbs.
I've had a punt around on the Internet and in a couple of Africa
swivel preload adjustment07 Nov 2005 20:17 GMT3
I have a steering wobble at around 70mph (Disco 200TDi) which I think comes
from the swivel pins (have replaced various bushes).
According to workshop manual adjusting the preload is done without seal,
etc, i.e. with swivel housing removed from axle.
RRC LSE Brake pipes07 Nov 2005 18:46 GMT13
Had it serviced yesterday & the chap mentioned it will need the brake pipes doing before next MOT (April)
I have never thought of doing it myself, but I am willing to give it a go. How hard is it? He reckons the
front to back pipes are a twat but the rest are easy?

OK, i may have given in to temptation....07 Nov 2005 18:19 GMT10
I'm giving consideration to a 101, will I be able to drive it reasonably comfortably as I'm 6' 3" & about
17 stone. I found the S3 very cramped but the 110 fine. How much would I realistically be paying for a
decent once? I don't want a show winner etc, but I don't want a shed! ...

the little section I am communicating to you about without doing a search

Hydraulic tappets.06 Nov 2005 12:00 GMT9
Some one must be a font on knowledge on these. I picked up the heads today
for Morph and the conversation turned to hydraulic tappets. I won't pretend
to understand them at the moment but could someone talk me through what if
anything I need to do prior to rebuilding Morph.

Upper tailgate needs a good slam05 Nov 2005 17:32 GMT6
My upper tailgate takes quite a bit of effort to get it to close
properly.  I have to give it a good slam in order for it to lock into
place. Are there any adjustments that can be made so it takes less
effort?
