Disc change16 Feb 2006 20:58 GMT40
How easy is it to change the front brake discs on a Disco I 200 TDi 1992.
Just ordered a couple from Beamends ( great price!) and don't trust/can't be
bothered to get HBOL from nasty cold garage tonight!
Any pitfalls to watch out for?

Another Defender 90 Propshaft Question...Advice sought.16 Feb 2006 20:01 GMT37
I decided to investigate the knocking and grumbling noise to the rear
of my 90 today.  As well as getting wet I found that I have a worn
rear UJ.  This isnt the problem, the seized spline however is.
So my rerar prop is about dead at the moment.  The front UJ is fine
UNOFFICIAL AFL MEET15 Feb 2006 19:26 GMT2
Just completed the booking of the brewery. Have paid a deposit of £30 for 12
people on the understanding that this can be amended nearer the time. I am
told that I will be required to pay the balance outstanding 7 days before
the event and give a final notification of numbers ...
Defender 90 prop shaft question15 Feb 2006 09:27 GMT19
Hi all, My defender 90 1996 300tdi tin-top with 104,000mls, has developed a
distinct vibration through the whole cab at 40mph along with a squeal whilst
pulling away. The sound is rotational, if you understand what I mean, and
seems to be central. My man in the know seems to think ...
Discovery 2 winch bumper14 Feb 2006 22:09 GMT10
Would anybody know if the dimensions of the bodywork on a discovery 1
is the same as a discovery 2.
The reason I ask is that I need a winch bumper, but the only one I like the
look of is the tubular type, though they arn't for the disco 2, I expect

The Top Gear Winter Olympics14 Feb 2006 09:12 GMT5
It's good to see that the Discovery demonstrated its inherent
superiority during the programme last night. But, to be honest, I don't
think any of the regulars really looked all that clever on the snow and
ice. And Clarkson seemed so determined to prove himself a pratt...
D90 - One propshaft on, Difflock engaged...Can I drive?14 Feb 2006 08:19 GMT4
I currently have another thread running about a dead propshaft (rear)
I have.
At the moment the 90 has the front prop in place and difflock engaged.
Am I OK to drive it (on the roads) or should I not?  I could do with
Is this true?13 Feb 2006 23:59 GMT4
Just been googling and came across this little gem...
"Interesting note, Martyn Day, chairman of Greenpeace UK, drives a Range
Rover."
If it is....well.....I shall be laughing all the way to the petrol station

Uprated disk brakes13 Feb 2006 15:51 GMT7
I have Discovery 2 automatic and the brakes will need reshoeing at the next
service.
I am thinking about improving the braking and have read different articles
about vented disks and better pads.
Fuel filter question 300 Tdi13 Feb 2006 15:33 GMT8

I'm just about to start using some biodiesel in my 1997 Defender 110
(300Tdi).
I've been advised to fit a cheap see-through fuel filter to keep an eye on
'Lectric Mirror mounting plate13 Feb 2006 10:00 GMT13
Some body side swiped the drivers door mirror this morning in the 15
minutes I was in the Library. Came back to find housing bent back and the
unbroken mirror dangling from the heater wires. The only thing that is
broken is the plastic part that the mirror clips onto that fixes ...
