Thanks for all the suggestions, folks. I do not think it is the engine

My Disco 200 tdi  ignition warning light is on even with the ignition off?
With the engine running all seems ok. With the engine off but ignition on

I  have just taken the side steps off my old RR classic and was hoping
to fit them to my Disco 1.  However when I measured them for the task
