Cheap, space-saving vehicle lifts?07 Mar 2006 20:45 GMT22
Hello hive mind, just a quick question regarding vehicle lifts.  I'd
quite like one (wouldn't we all) but am unwilling to get a second-hand
hydraulic lift and can't afford a new one.  My garage also doesn't
have a lot of height clearance or enough space so a 2 or 4 post lift

Land Rover and Labour07 Mar 2006 16:20 GMT12
Hello Gang.
Just read in LRO an article about Labour and British Leyland
in 1977 and backdoor dealings. The Daily Mail at the time revealed how
Labour knew of British Leyland bribing foreign governments. Due to

"So what? It's paid for..."06 Mar 2006 23:16 GMT1
OK. Who was this?
"So what? It's paid for and in front." or words to that effect were
stencilled rather neatly on the back of a Series2(?) camper conversion
which was parked in Morrisons carpark in Kendal today around 12noon. It was

Td5 into RRC - does it go06 Mar 2006 21:36 GMT5
I've been looking ahead to a replacement vehicle, and have bandied
around the idea of having a diesel P38 and also a Disco 2 in the next
12-18 months. However, when I look at the price of buying a newer truck
with potential problems I am coming round to the idea of updating the
Tax exemption and galv chassis06 Mar 2006 20:25 GMT6
Anyone with previous experience willing to comment of this chaps experience?
Should he have said anything?? What would an MOT station say now if he
presented his vehicle with a new chassis but had not declared the change to
the DVLA. I thought one was allowed so many points eg ...
Winch Power / "Gods Must Be etc"  Any truth?06 Mar 2006 18:20 GMT9
This has probably been asked before but I can't find a reference:  did
or does a Landy winch have the power to haul an 88 or 90 vertically
from the ground, as delightfully portrayed in that film?
I grew up in canvas 88's in the 1950's, but we never had a winch----.

engine immobilizer05 Mar 2006 20:12 GMT1
recently my '00 Defender 110 Td5 did not allow me to turn on the engine
immobilizer.  When I pressed the remote button to secure the truck, it just
honked the horn twice .  I did check to make sure all the doors and bonnet
were shut.
