Anyone else had the plastic 'T' water pipe juction break Freelander V6?05 Mar 2006 11:56 GMT5
Has anyone else had the plastic 'T' joining junction (connects water pipes
to expansion bottle) break? This is the second time mine has broken,
emptying the water completely.
Last time, a few months ago, it cost me over £160 (I guess the value of the
Defender 90 lift pump05 Mar 2006 10:59 GMT2
Does anyone have any words of wisdom regarding getting the fuel lines to
seal after changing a diesel lift pump?
I changed mine after the engine cut out, and the old pump was definitely not
pumping, but now with the new one, when I try to prime the system, there
Silly questions about Discos05 Mar 2006 08:00 GMT5
After much arm twisting SWMBO has decided that the idea of driving a
Disco has some appeal.  Can anyone give me a brief rundown (or point me
to one online) of the major changes/dates during the Disco I lifespan?
I'd also appreciate some feedback about how well auto tdi Discos ...

Running-In Rebuilt Engine04 Mar 2006 14:44 GMT22
Any advice on running in rebuilt 3.9 V8?
I am aiming, hopefully, to start up the engine and run it at tick over for
about 15 seconds (new rear oil seal) and then at about 2000rpm for 10 - 15
minutes to bed in the new cam. I have also heard that there is a particular
Water in fuel warning light04 Mar 2006 14:41 GMT9

p38 central locking strangeness04 Mar 2006 10:43 GMT2
The locks on the rangie have started doing weird things, when I lock it up
now, it gives 2 short pips on the horn.
According to the manual, this means a mislock, and it should say on the dash
what has mislocked.
P38 2.5DSE Starting Problem04 Mar 2006 10:25 GMT2
My 1998 2.5DSE has decided not to start. Was running & starting OK.
Initially suspected glow plug problems but have checked them and they are
fine. However undoing a high pressure pipe from a diesel injector and
cranking the engine does not show any fuel. Releasing the fuel pipe ...
Normal? or the beginning of the old money pit syndrome04 Mar 2006 09:41 GMT9
I'm getting a little nervous.  You know that feeling you got when you
realised what makes Land Rover products so endearingly irritating
DVLA have still not returned the documents, so I'm a bit fed up but I
thought at least I can tinker a bit & be ready for when they arrive.
Satisfied Mercedes Driver04 Mar 2006 09:33 GMT10
Traded my Disco 300Tdi for a Merc C-Class in July 2003, realised immediately
it was a mistake.
It took all this time to recover and now I've traded the Merc for a RR 2.5
DSE, at last I'm a satisfied customer.
