Wondered why my car (4.6 HSE) was using oil. Thought as first it was maybe burning the very thin 5w40 I
put in. But no!! I power all the sh.t off the bottom of the engine & boxes until it gleamed last night. I
used some car ramps so I could get right under it. Went on a 200m ...

Buggritnarse, and ping Beamends Richard!20 Apr 2006 19:55 GMT3
Seems the front end of Edward's starboard-side chassis is falling off,
taking with it the front spring hanger - cracked right through just aft of
the spring hanger... at least that explains the clonk on braking.  Doesn't
seem to have any obvious effect on handling, mind.  The ...

We have just purchased a 1981 SIII SWB 2.25 Petrol Land Rover.   We have a
problem that when the engine is idling, it is near impossible to select any
gears.  If the transfer box is put into neutral, then we can select any
gear, and then put transfer box back into gear, with no ...

Does anyone know anything about them, as it looks like it may be a solution
for owners of older vehicles.
Chequer Plate20 Apr 2006 13:38 GMT4
Does anyone know what the best stuff is to clean chequer plate with?
Mine seems to have loads of marks on it (I am guessing it is salt of the
road) as the wing tops dont have the same marks on them.
Thanks
Realistic fuel consumption?20 Apr 2006 12:28 GMT18
I have a 1996 Disco I which will pull around 450 miles on a full tank of
Diesel (around 22/23mpg).  When I bought the car a few months ago, the
garage told me that I should expect 34ish to the gallon.  Is there something
wrong with my engine, or was the garage being a little over ...
