Fifth Gear - More Anti Bias06 May 2006 20:53 GMT23
Did anyone see the simulated crash to see if a 4x4 was safer than an
MPV?
They went to an awful lot of expense to set this up - except that they
used and "old" 4x4 (Disco 1) against a new Espace with all the latest
ROT: Drilling / Cutting Butane Tanks06 May 2006 20:36 GMT50
Possibly a quite silly thing to do - but as one approaches retirement
one needs a little excitement...
I'm planning to make a Brazier (for burning, not holdin' boobs) out of
a blue Butane bottle.  I've vented it for a few days, then sank it in

Specifically I'm looking for plough type ground anchors as they seem

Defender clutch question06 May 2006 12:46 GMT4
Just had the leaky master cylinder replaced on my 90 and now the clutch
bites really near the floor whereas before it was much further up the pedal
travel. Is this normal or is something not adjusted quite right?
NERC Bill06 May 2006 12:22 GMT17
Just read that NERC is now law, so overnight all RUPPs become off
limits to greenlaners.  Great, what a fine country we live in.
Government lets dangerous, foreign criminals go yet us law abiding
types can't go green laning on RUPPs.  What a bunch of arse.
Fitting wheel studs06 May 2006 11:34 GMT2
Not on the fleet but a trailer I'm renovating.
Is it a case of tap in with a mallet? Or pack washers and draw it thorugh
with the nut? Don't want to feck it up as the Hubs are prehistoric... to
replace the hubs will require new suspension units x4... oh joy.
Engine Save06 May 2006 11:04 GMT7
I have installed a hewitt industries thingy to try and prevent another
engine blowup on my 300Tdi disco (basically a widget that makes noise
if coolant level drops, engine temp goes high, or oil pressure drops).
Any way yeserday I was going about 200Km up the coast when the low

Today I had to do a trip to Chichester, when I got there my engine was
TD5 Intercoolers... Is there a need to upgrade????05 May 2006 19:43 GMT2
Following on from a post I made a bit ago about having my 2000 TD5 90
chipped / remapped.
A few people here pointed me to certain knowledgable chaps with regard
to obtaining more power.

Discovery _ no gears 05 May 2006 14:03 GMT4
Anyone know a mobile mechanic in the Telford area who's good with
Discovery's?
After bringing the horse home at the weekend I couldn't select any gears.
(The cars still in the field with the horse, lol )
long shot...05 May 2006 13:46 GMT6
Anyone know anything about the Lucas EPIC system?
specifically, should it have restricted power when the engine's cold...
this morning, it wouldn't pull above about 3000 rpm.  after a bit it went
back to normal.
