Run Your Car On Rapeseed02 May 2006 22:13 GMT8
To be quite honest, it isn't difficult and that is why the oil
companies are so worried. because with a few simple ingredients, that
you already use when cleaning windows or camping, you can convert
rapeseed oil to diesel for your car.

I have a 99 Disco I and I just got two jump seats for the rear.  Before
I started ripping things apart to install it on my own I thought I
might look for some instructions on how to do it.
Does anyone have any instructions on installing jump seats in a
ROT - Ground radar & Carports02 May 2006 12:30 GMT11
Ok, I've had a beer or two I admit but I need to know...
We have some of the mains drains running across our plot which is why I have
such a wide drive and garden. I'd like to bung up a large 101 stylie carport
but would need to know where these drains are exactly.
weird tyre wear02 May 2006 10:45 GMT11
I think it is called scalloping or castellated wear. Basically alternate
tread blocks are worn down.
This happened on all 4 Colway mud terrains on my 110 and has now happened on
my 300tdi discovery. On the back tyres which are Avon Rangemasters - the

Will my series IIa rims fit on an early discovery?
Reversing sensor kit: is this a good idea02 May 2006 08:11 GMT9
My local garage has an ultrasonic (I think) reversing sensor kit for
£15. I was wondering if it was (a) good value, and (b) worth fitting to
the 110. I do a lot of town driving and a reversing sensor would be
good, but not if they're rubbish.
modified piston on mantec wheel carrier...02 May 2006 07:37 GMT4
when i bought my defender 90, it came with an unfitted second hand
mantec spare wheel carrier.  i have the arm bolted on now and it fits
the holes fine, but the piston housing (clamp thing) seems to have an
extra steel block welded on to it that doesn't look like it belongs.

I Hope not..............01 May 2006 22:42 GMT10
Just had a really good poke around in the pissing down rain to try find this water leak on the P38. It's
dripping (one ever 30 secs or so) from behind the alternator/pumps mounting bracket. Whilst I can't sure,
I think it's coming from the head gasket??? It's not overheating, no ...
buggritnarse the second.01 May 2006 22:35 GMT4
bloody alternator on the TDi has self-destructed.  front bearing collapsed,
causing lack of rotation.
and do any of the various alternators around here fit?  do they buggery.
Also, the one on the newly acquired minibus is defunct as well, so that's
