Been offered a P reg 300 TDi with full service history. It drives well and has a few dinks which don't worry me. It does grate the gears between first and second though and I'm suspecting that the synchro has failed. Mileage intergalactic at 201k.

In finally managed to get out the house for a couple of hours today and went to inspect the 90 I bought for pennies a while back. The LR is lovely (early 90 2.5 diesel) but there's a fair bit of corrosion on the rear parts of the chassis.

Just got back from a trip to Aberdeen from Norfolk in the trusty 200 Tdi. All the way up on one tankful at 75 mph, that's 510 miles. Average 34 mpg. On the way back I kept it to 55 on A roads and 60 on dual carriageways but we did a lot of town work in Edinburgh. The average was 35 ...
