I found a great Land Rover scrapyard today in Bury. Bought a complete
drivers seat for my Disco One 300TDi for £50, I thought that was not bad?

I think someone has been reading these pages as Ford are to put the
drivetrain of the new Defender underneath the new Transit to make a proper
capable 4x4 Van.
You won't have to make one now Austin. :-)

Folks,
Very probably a faq, but I didn't find it.
Anybody got anything to say for or against the various swing-away spare
wheel carriers around?  This is for a 2001 110.  I have seen to makes:

Been chatting to someone in the know about my V8 heating issues. They seem
to think its common for the rover v8's to develop cracked piston linings at
arround 130k. Has anyone else seen this ? Can you confirm wether this is a
common problem ? Also if this is a comon problem is ...

1998 (G to S REGISTRATION) PETROL AND DIESEL" cover my Discovery?  What does
the G to S registration refer to?

As the friction plate of my RR '81 needs to be replaced a question:
I've no equipment to take the engine out. So I thought to do it from the
inside of the car. Take out the gear cover plate , loosen both propshafts
,take out the bolts of the bell housing, support the engine  ...

Am considering my options. Assuming the bores are OK and that the crank
is good, how much would four piston sets and a complete set of bottom end
bearings cost including installation labour for above engine? What are the
chances that the bores and crank are OK for that matter?
