Ping Beamends - not09 Oct 2006 20:50 GMT70
I've bought stuff from Beamends, and the service was good.
But I'm well f.cked off with the incessant 'Ping Beamends' threads on
alt.fan. He has a perfectly functional website and on-line shop, so why
don't people use it?
knackered threads on wheel studs09 Oct 2006 20:11 GMT15
As an additional problem to my dodgy brakes I was thinking about
sorting out my knackered wheel studs.
On one hub there is no thread down at the bottom of the stud due to
the wheel rattling about on loose nuts.

Meaning what is the length of the suspension travel (front and rear axle
RR Classic - Body to Chassis bushes and repair of rear body hanger for same09 Oct 2006 18:23 GMT16
Lower edge of rear frame on my 88 RR Classic has rotted at the N/S end
sufficiently for the body to chassis hanger to be exploding with rust
and possibly even to be cracking!
I have no doubt that my 'man-with-mig' can repair the frame and rebuild
P38 "Alarm Fault"09 Oct 2006 08:51 GMT2
I keep getting an 'Alarm fault' message on the display on my P38, it appears
whenever I insert the key into the ignition. I don't need to turn the key,
in fact I don't even need to insert the key fully, literally as soon as the
key touches the barrel, the fault displays.
RR HSE Alarm systems09 Oct 2006 08:45 GMT1
OK.
How do you remove the alarm system from a P38 HSE?
Solutions involving an axe that still leave it possible to
start the engine urgently required.

clonking when taking up drive/changing gear08 Oct 2006 02:30 GMT10
Series 2A with a diesel lump.
When i pull off there is a metallic clonking noise (like something is
rattling back and forth or has lots of play in) as the clutch just
starts to bite.
Wipers - new problem07 Oct 2006 18:23 GMT6
Defender 110 CSW 1990
Right, back home, working in the dry, good lighting, proper tools
(although I can't use them properly) and a prompt delivery of spares
from Beamends.

TD5 clutch switch07 Oct 2006 14:21 GMT5
Recently, I had to have the clutch master cylinder on my 2004 TD5 Defender
changed under warranty, due to a fluid leak. Since then (6 weeks), I have
had two occasions when the engine has run unevenly and jerkily at highway
speeds. In the most recent example (last Wednesday), I ...

Im sure that when i bought my gunsons pressure bleeder thing it said
on the box that different caps were available.

DIY one doesnt work very well as the lid is too thick and the seal too
FS: 1990 Range Rover (feeling slightly less than a L-R fan right now)06 Oct 2006 21:19 GMT2
Just had the glad tidings that Thumper isn't going to make it through
an MOT without serious work. The rust has struck. I've not got a place
to lay her up for work, so she's for sale.
