I posted a bit back about a couple of problems with my 1995 Range Rover. Got a quote today after having the climate control looked at. It seems the motors that control the vent flaps have conked out, so the chap reckons we should replace all 3 (2 have gone, and we "may as well" ...

..bit baffled by this. Obviously the usual "value" stuff has no extra packaging etc, and is cheap. But surely insurance er....is insurance? Or is it that you pay them little, have a bit of paper, but can't claim? <grin> Anyone?

I'm just about to have a go at this and the official manual talks about lubricating things with "rubber grease" prior to reassembly, I've never heard of this and wonder if it's readily available or do people use any ordinary grease?.
