On our 1985 RRC there are metal shields protecting the rear disc brakes.
One of these shields broke loose a while ago and I removed it. The second
one is rattling and has a fracture in it. I have removed it too.

A remanufactured 2.25 3mb engine with gasflowed heads is now on order
from the ever-helpful Frida.  So, having spent a small fortune on the
main bit it seems a little silly to spoil it with worn out ancillaries.
So what should I keep and what should I replace?

Damn and double damn. I stopped off for a snack tonight and discovered one
of my tail lights wasn't working, further fiddling shows the stop lamp is
not working either, so it is not likely to be the bulb. (couldn't be
bothered to take the protective cage off to check the ...

It's a sign of the times that the "my heater is crap" posts haven't started
in earnest yet.
Is that because it's milder or because there are less Series motors on the
road?
