BZZZT! 'School run 4x4' alert22 Dec 2006 13:45 GMT8
Against all odds, SWMBO has actually taken a shine to the 110. The
only thing is she reckons she cant reach down enough to open the
window winder, though quite why she'd want to in this weather is
anyones guess. But I spy an opportunity to convert her to regular

Disco snatching22 Dec 2006 08:25 GMT4
Recently I've noticed my 300tdi disco snatching a bit when reaching and
exceeding about 3000rpm.  It almost feels like like the engine is cutting
out and suddenly coming back again.
It's most noticeable in 3rd gear and when accelerating quickly onto a dual
LR Discovery TD5 Turbo21 Dec 2006 22:56 GMT6
I have recently had an oil pump failure on my LR Discovery TD5. After
being towed to my local garage and lucklily it was covered by a
guarantee, my garage told me that the Turbo had been damaged by the
temporary lack of oil to lubricate the turbo, even though it was only

So if you were to fit an ARB where would you put one first?
Rear diff or Front? My rain is telling me rear.

Greetings all
I've just driven the 84 110 V8 for the first time in a while after
rebuilding both front hubs with new bushes seals etc.
All was done as per the manual and she drives well now. The hub rebuild
Mystery plugs on clutch housing21 Dec 2006 19:43 GMT6
All,
While changing the oil of all the boxes I could find on my 110 TD5, I
noticed a number of plugs on the housing on the clutch.  A picture of these
is at <http://users.aber.ac.uk/ffl/mysteryPlugs.png>.
Wanted - 110 CSW21 Dec 2006 12:12 GMT14
My Disco went off to its new home yesterday so now the search is on
for its replacement. Mainly ferrying duties, up to nine kids (which is
why it has to be a 110), but with a fair bit of laning and occasional
playdays. Budget is tight, couple of grand, so looking for an oldie
testing Viscous fans21 Dec 2006 09:01 GMT9
How do I check that the viscous fan unit on my 3.9 Classic is working
properly?   Even in these chilly times the fan is hauling copious
quantities of air in from startup.

'FIRST OVERLAND' NOW ON DVD20 Dec 2006 22:16 GMT6
Something of a blatant plug, I'm afraid, but I'll justify it by saying
it's a public service to those who (like me) were inspired into
Land-Rover ownership by Tim Slessor's book (now republished by Signal
Books) of the 1955 Oxford & Cambridge Far Eastern Expedition from

109 2.25 Diesel, air in fuel line.20 Dec 2006 19:37 GMT7
I've had a running problem with my old SIII since I bought her.  I've
changed the lift pump, replaced the (numerious bits of rubber joined) fuel
line from the tank to the engine bay with a single run of copper to the lift
pump, but I can still see air getting in.  I can see the ...
Parts Fairey overdrive20 Dec 2006 17:44 GMT16
Just dismantled two Fairey overdrive units. Wanted to install one of them on
my RRC '81. Both units however have a bad laygear. Teeth have been damaged,
so the laygear should be replaced. Cannot find any suppliers here in
Holland. Maybe someone knows a supplier in UK who i can ...
