Prima Perkins Conversion-Worth it?06 Jan 2007 21:24 GMT10
So PhylissJ is running pretty good after me molesting her under the
bonnet slightly (Ta for the advice before).  Wanting to let her go
green slightly so I'm looking at making her a bit less thirsty and the
possibility of alt fuels.  Being petrol the only option I really know
erratic/jumpy speedo.06 Jan 2007 21:18 GMT7
People Hi and Happy New Year to everybody.
the speedometer (the gauge showing the speed of the vehicle, not the rpm) on
my 1993 evented Camel Trophy Discovery 200Tdi has started making a ticking
noise and the needle is erratic/jumping up to around 80 or 90 Kph.
Way OT - digital camcorders06 Jan 2007 20:32 GMT26
As a Christmas present to myself I bought a Sony DV Camcorder HC35.
Alot more compact than the old video cameras and really excellent to
take to trials and various Landy "do's". The playback on the TV is
really good ie. if you plug it straight in.
An expensive morning!06 Jan 2007 14:04 GMT16
Took the Disco in for a new centre section exhaust this morning, should have
been routine. However, the car stalled at some traffic lights in the town
centre and would not re-start, after several attempts it finally turned over
and started but the handbrake then went wrong, the ...
Tyre markings - what does 7.50 mean?06 Jan 2007 13:10 GMT31
Usually, tire markings are something like "235/85 R 16", which
shows width, aspect ratio and diameter. But recently I came across tire
that had the following on its side: "7.50 R16 S"
What exactly is "7.50"? Is it a different standard for tyre
Question about adhering Support Our Troops ribbon06 Jan 2007 12:52 GMT16
Strange as it may seem, I tried to adhere one of those Support Our Troops
yellow magnetic ribbons to my Land Rover Discovery.  Haven't had the truck
that long, but the ribbon didn't adhere to the usual places one one adhere
the ribbon.  I am wondering if the lack of magnetic ...
Any pointers for someone looking for a RR classic?06 Jan 2007 10:06 GMT35
Which would be a better prospect?
A V8 with working LPG, or a Diesel.
I know neither is a performance or economy car but no point in wasting
fuel is there.

Discovery II heater isn't!05 Jan 2007 20:59 GMT12
Help please!  I've just been out to pick up a relative and drop them at
home.  The heater didn't warm up at all, not one degree!  Yesterday it
worked fine (and has done so from day one) and I didn't alter any settings
this evening - it's winter and full warm is the standard ...
Slightly OT: Toyota Hilux bench seats04 Jan 2007 21:35 GMT2
A mate of mine has a 1992 Toyota Hilux 4x4 pickup, and wants to remove
his 2 front seats and put in a bench seat which apparently were in the
older models so he can accomodate him and his 2 kids.
Does anyone have any experience with Hilux's and is it possible to do?
Golf Broken into - Happy new year.04 Jan 2007 17:11 GMT3
Happily out tonight having a good time around a friends house for new
year. Got there at 8, left at 1.
Came out to my Golf to find the drivers side window smashed. Bastards.
Been though the glove box, both door cards and the center arm rest.
Lifting Classic Range Rover04 Jan 2007 14:37 GMT2
My previous classic (1986 efi) is currently enjoying her twilight
years with a mate who is a keen green-laner.
She would benefit from a smallish lift, but is of an age where serious
investment of beer tokens is unwarranted.
V8 timing + lpg04 Jan 2007 12:39 GMT2
I have a 1995 3.9i Discovery which most of the time I run on LPG. I also
have an RPI advance/retard thingy on it. Has anyone else got one of these
and if so what do you set the timing at?
Or even if you dont use one of these what do you set the timing at?
110 Power steering...04 Jan 2007 12:21 GMT5
Satellite delay in the power steering doing it's stuff. I've had a quick
peek (it's raining!) and the belt seems tight. Took the top off the fluid
and that seems present... though very frothy and could probably do with an
egg cup full of fluid in to bring it up to level.
